NORTON State House News Service BOSTON – State officials reported Jan. 8 that a fourth Massachusetts person has died of a vaping-associated lung injury. The state Department of Public Health said the man, who was in his 70s and from Middlesex County, reported vaping tetrahy- drocannabinol, an ingredient found in marijuana. “Today’s news is a tragic reminder that we must remain vig- ilant about the dangers of vaping,” Public Health Commissioner Monica Bharel said in a statement. “There are resources available to help people quit and we encourage anyone to use these resources.” On Sept. 11, 2019, the state began requiring clinicians to report any unexplained lung injury in a patient. The latest case is among 36 confirmed cases of e-cigarette or vaping-associated lung injury (EVALI) that DPH has reported to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since the state began man- dating the report. DPH said Tuesday it has received 341 reports from clini- cians of suspected vaping-associ- ated lung injuries. Of those, 109 cases of EVALI have been identi- fied, with 36 confirmed cases and 73 probable cases reported to the CDC. The state reported two vaping- related deaths in October and one in November. Two of those cases involved women who vaped nico- tine and one involved a Worcester County man who reported vaping nicotine and THC. Massachusetts vaping death toll now at four. HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Friday, Jan. 10, 2020: This year, you often see both sides of an issue. Can you find solutions that don’t force anyone to totally relent? If single, this ability could dominate in your relating. Be careful; someone might easily take advantage of you. If attached, the two of you could forever go back DUSTIN By Steve Kelley and Jeff Parker and forth through the pros and cons of a deci- sion. Eventually you will need to make a deci- sion. Flow more often with your sweetie’s needs. CANCER’s emotional nature often impacts you more than you realize.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)  The Full Moon might force you to look at your lifestyle. Some of you might look at life as presenting too many options, while others could blame their frenetic pace on simply SCARY GARY Mark Buford having too much on their plate. You have free will here. Tonight: Remember, TGIF. TAURUS (April 20-May 20)  You might be a lot more deter- mined than you realize. You could feel like it is your way or the highway. Not everyone will dance to this tune! You might need to dedicate some time to your budget. Tonight: Out on the town. GEMINI (May 21-June 20) Crosswords  Expand your horizons while working and eyeing a day-to-day issue. Making plans, keep in mind the apple of your eye. You do not want to upset anyone you really care DOGS of C-KENNEL Mick and Mason Mastroianni about. You find a key person demanding. Tonight: Go for some personal time with a loved one. CANCER (June 21-July 22)  No one expects to be around you and not to see an emotional display about some- thing or someone you feel deeply about. Just be yourself and flow. A partner or close associate might have a similar, less emotional tendency. Tonight: Painting the town red. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)  Step back before plunging into a turbulent situation. You can handle it, but do you B.C. Mastroianni and Hart want to? You might not have as much control as you like. Looking before you leap could be smart. Tonight: Make it a cozy night for two. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)  Someone will try to convince you that he or she is right, and everyone else is “less right.” You are too detail-oriented to fall victim to such logic. Make no decision until after a key meeting. Tonight: Racing into the weekend, full steam ahead! LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)  You have seen and done a lot lately. Once more you have accepted an addi- tional responsibility, perhaps to help a co- ONE BIG HAPPY Rick Detorie worker or have greater say with a project. Be careful; you could regret a decision that you make now. Tonight: A force to be dealt with. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)  You have strong boundaries. Decide to stretch and break a self-imposed bar- rier to see what happens. You incorporate more dynamic thinking and expertise into your day. Consider being totally spontaneous. Tonight: Wild events could happen. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)  You seem to feel that if you follow the money, you will be able to undo a knot in your life. Recognize that no one intentionally ANDY CAPP Mahoney, Goldsmith and Garnett messed you up, but rather, others have a differ- ent style than you do. Tonight: Clear the path; go for what you want. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)  The Full Moon tends to scatter your attention. Others appear to want things a certain way, which might not be in sync with your desires. Some of you will pull back. Others will stand firmly. Tonight: Be as charming and considerate as possible. Tonight: Keep gossip to a minimum. Say little. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)  Zero in on a creative idea at work or within a planning session.
