Memphis Blues City Showcase College Coaches 2014 Memphis Blues City Showcase College Coaches Katrina Dowd Dowd posted a stellar playing career at Northwestern, where she helped the Wildcats to three consecutive national championships from 2007-09. She also is a standout for the United States National Team, joining former Tar Heel players Kristen Carr, Amber Falcone, Jenn Russell and Laura Zimmerman on the 2012-14 U.S. women's national senior team. Dowd has been a member of the U.S. national team since 2008 and was chosen as an alternate on the 2009 U.S. FIL World Cup Championship squad. A native of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., Dowd was a two-time first-team IWLCA All-America at Northwestern (2009, 2010), winning three NCAA championships (2007, 2008, 2009). She led the '09 Wildcats to their fifth consecutive national title, scoring a team-high 75 goals and earning NCAA Tournament Most Valuable Player Award honors. She was the 2010 IWLCA Attacker of the Year and a Tewaaraton Award finalist, finishing the season with 110 points on 77 goals and 33 assists. She also earned American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Year honors and was named MVP of the ALC Tournament in 2010. In her career, Dowd compiled 209 goals and 58 assists for 267 total points in 88 games. She finished her career fourth in Northwestern history in goals, and in the Top 10 in assists, ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls. Dowd finished her career as the all-time NCAA Tournament leader in goals (45) while ranking fourth in points (52). Dowd coached at Syracuse for the 2012 season, helping lead the Orange to the NCAA championship game for the first time in program history. Prior to her stint at Syracuse, she served as a volunteer assistant in 2011 at the University of Denver, where she coached the Pioneers' offense. Dowd also has worked as a men's and women's lacrosse brand manager for Harrow Sports since 2010. Brett Queener Brett is currently an Assistant Coach at Syracuse University and starting goalie for Hamilton Nationals. Brett has won the MLL championship 2x , been named All-American, Lacrosse Personality of the year, Junior Lacrosse Player of the year, and many more awards! Brett has played for Team USA indoor and the Boston Blazers of the NLL. At Penn Yan Academy Brett was an All-American and NYS Champion in 2001. Memphis Blues City Showcase College Coaches Sarah Queener Sarah is the Head Coach at Pomona- Pitzer Colleges. At Yale University Sarah was an All-American and led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament. Additionally Sarah won the IVY league championship in 2002, lead the country in assists per game in 2002, was selected to the All-IVY team 2X. At Penn Yan Academy Sarah was an All-American and won the 1999 NYS Championship. She is the all- time leading scorer in history of program. Brice Queener Brice is the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Rhodes College. He brings with him a wealth of coaching and playing experience to head up the Rhodes Lynx lacrosse program. Prior to Rhodes College, Brice founded the first girl’s lacrosse team at The Hill Academy and was the Head Coach of the boys Prep team. Additionally Brice was an assistant coach for Georgetown University helping them reach the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2006. In 20007 and 2008 Brice was an assistant coach at Binghamton University, and in 2009 at Siena College. Professionally, Brice has played for Team USA Indoor, The Rochester Rattlers, and Toronto/Hamilton Nationals. Brice played for the Georgetown Hoyas and helped them to four straight NCAA quarterfinal appearances. At Penn Yan Academy Brice was an All-American and NYS champion in 2001. Memphis Blues City Showcase College Coaches Julia Decker Julia Decker is entering her second season as an assistant lacrosse coach with Fresno State. Decker worked primarily with the attacking unit in her first season with the Bulldogs, helping the team to their best scoring year yet. The Bulldogs recorded a season-best 147 points and 115 goals in 2013. Decker played at the College at Brockport from 2005-2009, where her team won the ECAC Championships in 2008 and were finalists in 2007. She finished her college career as the Offensive player of the year in 2009 with 204 points (2nd on the college's all-time list) and 141 goals (3rd on the college's all-time list). Carlee Buck Buck enters her second year in 2014 as an assistant coach at Limestone after joining the program in 2012. She brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience following a four-year playing career at NCAA Division I Stony Brook and four years as an assistant coach at Fresno State. During her time at Fresno State, Buck helped grow the program from its first year in 2009 and served as interim head coach for the 2011 campaign. As part of her duties as an assistant for the Bulldogs she identified and recruited student-athletes, worked closely with the offense on both skills and strategy and arranged travel and meals for each road trip. As the interim head coach, Buck served as the recruiting coordinator, prepared scouting reports and game plans and developed and executed practice plans while managing the operating and travel budgets for the program. She also aided in the development of seven high school lacrosse programs in the Central Valley of California as she instructed them on development of coaching manuals, field lining and prepared free lacrosse clinics for the communities. On the field, Buck was a four-year starter for Division I Stony Brook, notching 225 points, 92 goals and 133 assists from 2004-07. During her time with the Seawolves she was a two-time All-America East First-Team selection in 2005 and 2007 and led the conference in assists per game both years. Memphis Blues City Showcase College Coaches Sylvia Queener Sylvia is the currently an assistant coach at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. Sylvia just completed a brilliant player career at Limestone College. Earning 1 st team all- league, player of the year in her conference, and All-American honors while leading her team the NCAA Championship game! At Penn Yan Academy Sylvia was an All-American and won the NYS Championship. Juli Liebig Juli is currently an Assistant Coach at Rhodes College. She works primarily with the goalies and defense. Juli came to Rhodes from Washington College where she helped led the team to a team record of victories in 2012. Juli played goalie at Longwood University and was a three time all-league selection. .

The locker room renovation was made possible via a substantial leadership gift from James C. Metzger ’83. The renovation included the installation of 48 new lockers, a remodel of the bathroom and shower area, and new carpeting and flooring. Hollman, Inc., a leading manufacturer of collegiate lockers, designed and installed the new custom lockers, constructed specifically for use with lacrosse as they feature space to hold multiple helmets, sticks and are equipped with a phone charging station and cushions for comfort. Milburn Flooring oversaw the installation of the new flooring. In addition to his profound gift, Metzger also led a matching gift campaign for alumni of the program to have one of the lockers named in their honor. Each locker is named in honor of a Pride men’s lacrosse alumnus and Metzger matched each gift for all 48 lockers. Jason resides on Mercer Island with his wife and three boys. Jason was a two-time captain of the Ohio State Buckeyes Lake Union Sea Ray lacrosse team, winning Big Ten championships in two of his seasons.
