Welcome to JMAC Week 6! This week’s theme is... Japanese Animation Studios!

It wasn’t until 1956 that the Japanese animation industry took off, and successfully adopted the studio format as used in the United States. In 1961, these productions began to be aired in the USA, and individual studios began to spring up.

The greatest difference between Japanese studios and North American studios is the difference in adult themed material to make way in Japan. General JMAC Info

Peelander-Z, the Japanese Action Comic Punk Band will perform at Reggie’s Music Joint (2105 S. State Street) on Saturday, October 31 (HALLOWEEN!)

They bill themselves as a "Japanese Action Comic Punk band hailing from the Z area of Planet Peelander". While the founding members of Peelander-Z were all born in Japan, they first met and formed their band while living in New York.

The show starts are 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. The show is 21+. Tickets can be purchased at ticketfly (click here)!
