2018- 2019 Annual Report Dear Friends,

Our 2018-19 Annual Report provides you with insight into the events and programs that, with your generous support, we launched this past year in Seattle, in Israel, and beyond. Additionally, as part of this report, we are pleased to share with you Friendsour new mission, vision, values statements and our 2019-2022 Strategic Plan. These statements and plans are a result of many months of dedicated efforts. We started by hosting several input sessions with students and Jconnectors (both involved and uninvolved), community partners, current and past Hillel UW staff members, parents, friends, UW faculty/staff, and donors. Over twelve different stakeholder groups provided feedback and recommendations.

The four pillars of our 2019-2022 Strategic Plan will provide the structural founda- tion to our work. Our staff and board will ensure that we are engaging young adults in new and innovative ways while maintaining our core essential program- ming such as Shabbat Dinners, holiday celebrations, Bagel Clubs, and FREE immersive trips to Israel. We will also continue to cultivate relationships with key community partners including the University of Washington and Jewish organizations throughout the greater Seattle area, while maintaining our com- munity outreach through High Holiday services and Passover seders and lunches.

Finally, we will ensure that we have the resources, capacity, and infrastructure to support our work and preserve our beautiful building. This will include the need for additional funds to maintain and upgrade our facility as it ages, update our tech- nology, and improve our branding and online presence to more effectively reach today’s young Jewish adults.

Hillel UW’s board and staff are committed to the implementation of this plan. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with you so that, together, we can inspire students and young adults to explore, embrace, and celebrate Jewish life and identity.

B’Shalom,

Jon Newman Alan Waldbaum Amee Sherer Board President Board President Greenstein Family 2017-2019 2019-2021 Executive Director
