Mrinmoy Pal University Of Kalyani, West Bengal 741235 Abstract: Dokra or Dhokra is one of the important ancient craft in India. Like other crafts it also being practiced in some districts of Bengal. One of such important village i.e.bikna village in Bankura district upholds this tradition from its ancient past. The craftsmen involved in this craft making process are now facing lots of problem to sustain their craftsmanship as well as their cultural identity. Family members of the village practiced these traditional metal sculpture processes by making figures of different things keeping in mind from its social concern. This technique was traced far as an ancient Chola Dynasty to make various Chola bronzes statues. First a figure was made of wax or other medium like dhuna .This was covered with clay and allow drying, a tiny hole was made on it. When it heated the molten brass replaced the original impression. Villagers involve in these craft making process, they neither have any agricultural land nor any other source of income. It becomes difficult to lead their lives depending totally on these product materials as they hardly get reliable prices and hold the demands throughout the year. A case study made on it tries to promote the product materials along with their socio-economic view point of lives and take an initiative to provide a better opportunity to strengthen their craftsmanship. -

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY With the Government of Bangladesh driving its National Sanitation Campaign from 2003-2012, Bangladesh has made significant progress in reducing open defecation, from 34 percent in 1990 to just once percent of the national population in 20151. Despite these achievements, much remains to be done if Bangladesh is to achieve universal improved2 sanitation coverage by 2030, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Bangladesh’s current rate of improved sanitation is 61 percent, growing at only 1.1 percent annually. To achieve the SDGs, Bangladesh will need to provide almost 50 million rural people with access to improved sanitation, and ensure services are extended to Bangladesh’s rural poor. Many households in rural Bangladesh do not have sufficient cash on hand to upgrade sanitation systems, but can afford the cost if they are able to spread the cost over time. -

EMPOWERING THE DOKRA ARTISANS THROUGH THE ACCESSIBILITY OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR SURVIVAL OF THEIR INDIGENOUS TECHNOLOGY – A STUDY OF WEST BENGAL, INDIA SRIPARNA GUHA 1, DR ARUN BANERJEE 2 & DR ANIRBAN MANDAL 3 1Research Scholar & Assistant Professor, Department of Managmeent, Brainware University, India 2Adjunct Professor, Department of Managmeent, Brainware University, India 3Associate Professor, Department of Management, Brainware University, India ABSTRACT Handicraft industries that continue to play an significant role in rural industries in the survival and development of rural people from developing countries, such as India. Indigenous enterprises that have a clear connection with indigenous territory depend predominantly on local capital and give the rural population employment. The art of casting with wax lost technology, also known as Dokra art, is an old art in India and seems to have existed since the OriginalArticle earliest days of settled culture in the subcontinent in an uninterrupted tradition. The ancient Dokra art craft of Dariapur village of Burdwan district and Bikana village of Bankura district of West Bengal (India) is not an exception of this concept. It is very difficult to maintain this ancient Dokra art and design on the market in a competitive environment today, with the fashion and luxury industry taking maximum share. But only the love and admiration of these craftsmen for their work make comparison with modern society possible. The paper attempts, by illustrating the numerous problems associated with this craft, to research the subsistence and socioeconomic conditions of Dokra workers from those two villages, with the aim of preserving their heritage in the future and concentrates on the accessibility of financial resources so that they can sustain a proper livelihood. -

2020 South Asia
2020 Daily Prayer Guide for all People Groups & Unreached People Groups = LR-UPGs - of South Asia Source: Joshua Project data, www.joshuaproject.net 2020 Western edition (India DPG is separate) To order prayer resources or for inquiries, contact email: [email protected] INTRODUCTION & EXPLANATION Introduction Page i All Joshua Project people groups & “Least Reached” (LR) / “Unreached People Groups” (UPG) downloaded in July, 2019 are included. Joshua Project considers LR & UPG as those people groups who are less than 2 % Evangelical and less than 5 % total Christian. This prayer guide is good for multiple years (2020, 2021, etc.) as there is little change (approx. 1.4% growth) each year. ** AFTER 2020 MULTIPLY POPULATION FIGURES BY 1.4 % ANNUAL GROWTH EACH YEAR. The JP-LR column lists those people groups which Joshua Project lists as “Least Reached” (LR), indicated by LR. Frontier people groups = FR, are 0.1% Christian or less, the most needy UPGs. White rows shows people groups JP lists as “Least Reached” LR or FR, while shaded rows are not considered LR-UPG people groups by Joshua Project. Luke 10:2, Jesus told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Therefore, let's pray daily for South Asia's people groups & LR-UPGs! Introduction Page ii UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS IN SOUTH ASIA Mission leaders with Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization (LCWE) meeting in Chicago in 1982 developed this official definition of a PEOPLE GROUP: “a significantly large ethnic / sociological grouping of individuals who perceive themselves to have a common affinity to one another [on the basis of ethnicity, language, tribe, caste, class, religion, occupation, location, or a combination]. -
