ARTICLE IIl The Honorary Cross I class is worn from the left side of the chest, the Honorary Cross of the II and III class, as well as both medals are worn in the buttonhole from a white watered silk band with three black stripes, I-I/8 inch wide. The exclusive right to wear either the Princely Honorary Cross I or II class is reserved to the of the Most Se- rene Royal House and those members of Our Princely House, who are Great Commanders of the Royal Order of Hohenzollern. The latter (2rid class), however, is not like all other Knights of the II class, without cro~m, but with a crown consisting of a gold ring with 5 leaves and 4 prongs, above which 3 bows, garnished with pearls join together, on which the mound rests. In between the bows a red velvet hat is visible in such a way that the crown remains half open. , The Knights of the Princely Honorary Cross of all 3 clas- ses and the bearers of the gold Honorary and silver Medal for Distinguished Service are permitted, inasmuch as they do not have to appear in public on festive events, to wear the band of the Order of the House in the buttonhole ARTICLE IV All Princes of the Princely are born bearers of the Honorary Cross I class. They are, however, only allowed to wear it from the age of 16 years and on.

ARTICLE V The purpose of the original establishment of the Order, - reward for special merits for the House of Hohenzollern, re- cognition of true loyalty and devotion - shall guide us also in the future in awarding with the permission of His Majesty, the King, this Order of the House of Hohenzollern. ARTICLE VI The awarding of the Honorary Crosses of all three classes, as well as the medals takes place with the consent of both Princely Houses~ therefore, the diplomas will be issued and ex- ecuted by us in reference hereto. Under extraordinary circumstances, however, in the special responsibility of the donor an award may be given without mutual consent. ARTICLE VII As a rule~ awards should only be given once a year, namely on January 18, as the celebration of the coronation and Order. ARTICLE VIII Conferring of our Order of the House results from free motivation in recognition of the merits for the House of Hohenzollern. Appeals for conferring of our orders should therefore not be made, nor considered in any case. ARTICLE IX The Honorary Cross is to be returned after the death of the bearer. The same applies to the award of that of a high- er class. The medals remain within the family. A~TICLE X Should the case occur, contrary to expectations that the bearer of an Order is condemned to punishment or guilty of dishonorable conduct, we shall then declare him to have for- feited the honor of the decoration and deprive him of it. Wilhelm AMENDMF~T We, Carl Anton, by the Grace of God, Prince of Hohenzol- lern~ Burgrave of , Earl of Sigmaringen and Veringen, Earl of Berg, Master of Hsigerloch and Werstein, etc. With the death of our most beloved cousin on September 3~ 1869, His Highness the Prince Friedrich Wilhelm Constantin of Hohenzollern-Hechingen~ co-founder of the Princely Order of the House of Hohenzollern, the Princely lineage of Hohenzol- lern-Hechingen has expired and the of a "Prince of Hohen- zollern" has been passed on to us. The by-laws of the Order are therefore changed in one point, i. e. awarding the Order and effecting of the Most Imperial permission is now exclusively up to us~ as the sole Master of the Princely House of "Hohenzollern".
