INDIANAPOLIS ART CENTER (continued)
Description
Located in the Broad Ripple Village Cultural District and designed by world-renowned architect Michael Graves, the Indianapolis Art Center and award-winning ARTSPARK feature nationally recognized classes for all ages and skill levels. Topics range from drawing, sculpture and painting to glass blowing, bead making and fiber art all taught by working artists in 13 state-of-the-art studios. The Art Center also houses eight exhibition spaces, a library, an auditorium, and an art shop.
Each May, the Art Center’s primary fundraiser, the Broad Ripple Art Fair features nationally recognized artists in the Midwest’s largest weekend art festival. Three music stages, numerous food vendors and an activity area for kids enhance this exciting event.
Opened in 2005, ARTSPARK is a 12-acre outdoor creativity park featuring site-specific sculptures by master artists, temporary sculpture installations and universally accessible pathways and landscaping. As a trailhead for the Monon Greenway, The Indianapolis Art Center campus is easily accessible to visitors, offers plenty of free parking and is open daily, year-round. Admission is free.
The facility offers a variety of event and meeting opportunities set within the Art Center’s unique spaces. From corporate retreats and seminars to weddings and informal gatherings, the Art Center provides event planners a creative alternative to traditional rental facilities.
