Cons-Sainte-Colombe and the lime kilns Sunday, September 16, 15:00 (Fours à Chaux - Cons-Sainte-Colombe) The 19 th century limestone kilns were some of the most important in the Savoie. Cons-Sainte- Colombe, a small village located in the plains between Annecy and Ugine, restored its limestone kilns on the outskirts of town. An area has been set aside to teach about this industry that disappeared from Cons at the end of the 19 th century. The museum, with its modest and contemporary design using materials from the local mountains, is delicately arranged in the old buildings: the project won the Rhône-Alpes heritage award in 2006.
