Jeeves WoosterPar Thackeray JohnA brilliant book to relax with - so funny that it actually made me laugh out loud in some places!0 internautes sur 0 ont trouvé ce commentaire utile. Arrived quickly but mediocre conditionPar strawberryArrived very quickly , but I would never have described as good condition, only acceptable, it is OK to read but cover shabby and grubby , spine cracked open in several places , so will eventually fall apart and quite a few pages covered with little brown flecks/mottling.

Présentation de l'éditeur‘You don’t analyse such sunlit perfection: you just bask in its warmth and splendour’ 'It's beats me why a man of his genius is satisfied to hang around pressing my clothes and what not,' says Bertie. 'If I had Jeeves's brain I should have a stab at being Prime Minisiter or something.'Luckily for us, manages to retain Jeeve's services through all the vicissitudes of purple socks and policeman's helmets, and here, gathered together for the first time, is an omnibus of Jeeves novels and stories comprising three of the funniest books ever written: Thank You, Jeeves, The code of the Woosters and The Inimitable Jeeves.Thank You, JeevesBertie disappears to the country as a guest of his chum Chuffy – only to find his peace shattered by the arrival of his ex- fiancée Pauline Stoker, her formidable father and the eminent loony-doctor Sir Roderick Glossop. When Chuffy falls in love with Pauline and Bertie seems to be caught in flagrante, a situation boils up which only Jeeves (whether employed or not) can simmer down . . .The Code of the WoostersPurloining an antique cow creamer under the instruction of the indomitable Aunt Dahlia is the least of Bertie’s tasks, for he has to play Cupid while feuding with Spode. The Inimitable JeevesIn pages stalked by the carnivorous Aunt Agatha, Bingo Little embarks on a relationship roller coaster and Bertie needs Jeeves’s help to narrowly evade the clutches of terrifying Honoria Glossop . . .Revue de presse"The gold standard of English wit … There is not, and never will be, anything to touch him" (Christopher Hitchens)"It's dangerous to use the word genius to describe a writer, but I'll risk it with him" (John Humphrys)"Mr Wodehouse’s idyllic world can never stale. He will continue to release future generations from captivity that may be more irksome than our own. He has made a world for us to live in and delight in" (Evelyn Waugh)Présentation de l'éditeur‘You don’t analyse such sunlit perfection: you just bask in its warmth and splendour’ Stephen Fry'It's beats me why a man of his genius is satisfied to hang around pressing my clothes and what not,' says Bertie.
