The QMAs not only provide a platform for our local artists to be recognised nationally and abroad, but also our industry leaders, festivals and live music venues. After the devastating year that was 2020, it is more important than ever to continue to shine light on our local talent and support the next generation of artists Queensland continue to deliver to the world. Offering support and encouragement to keep going in this new year ahead is imperative for our industry to thrive and demonstrate the Queensland spirit to the rest of the nation. Winning a QMA is a key milestone in the career of many successful Queensland artists. Look back at the past winners of the AWARDS. With over 1000 artist song submissions, and directors sending in more than 100 music video submissions, the 2021 QMAs marks the highest ever number of submissions on record. The QMAs have spotlighted or unearthed a pantheon of Queensland music greats, including Kate Miller-Heidke, Bernard Fanning, The Grates, Hungry Kids of Hungary and Emma Louise.
