Prehistoric settlements were built on marshland, a Roman town was built on the first river terrace of the Ljubljanica River, and in the Middle Ages a town was built in a strategic position between the Lju- bljanica River and Castle Hill. The modern city absorbed all usable space between the nearby hills. This paper reviews some relief features in Ljubljana, their influence on the city’s spatial development, and urban geoheritage. The results indicate new possibilities for urban geoheritage tourism in the Slovenian capital and its surroundings.     G A S I L S K A Z V E Z A L J U B L J A N A KOMISIJA ZA MLADINO Komisija za mladino Gasilska zveza Ljubljana Vojkova 19 1000 Ljubljana Komisijam za mladino GZL Datum: 7. 5. 2018 RAZPIS POLETNE GASILSKE ŠOLE GASILSKE ZVEZE LJUBLJANA V LETU 2018 Na podlagi PRAVILNIKA O MERILIH ZA UDELEŽBO NA LETOVANJU GASILSKE MLADINE V GZL, ki ga je Komisija sprejela na svoji 4. redni seji, dne 20. 3. 2000 in dopolnila na 30. redni seji z dne 31. 3. 2008, razpisujemo poletno gasilsko šolo GZL. Poletna gasilska šola „BOHINJ 2018“ bo potekala v Gozdni šoli ZTS v Bohinju od sobote, 23. 6. 2018, do sobote, 30. 6. 2018. Na taborjenje se lahko prijavi gasilska mladina PGD članic GZL. Zveza bo sofinancirala desetino mladih z mentorjem (9+1), v razpisu izbranih PGD, v starostni kategoriji pionirji, mladinci in pripravniki (letnica rojstva 2000–2011). V primeru izrednih razmer se društvu na skupino otrok odobri še en mentor. Financira se ga enako kot prvega mentorja. Mentor, ki spremlja gasilsko mladino, mora biti polnoleten. Če bo otrok več (več kot 9), plača PGD vsakega naslednjega otroka v celoti. Prav tako tudi drugega mentorja. He was Jože Plečnik; Plečnik is the central figure in a forgotten chapter in the development of international modernism. The Slovene architect Jože Plečnik has become the central personality of a so far largely ignored development taking place behind the façade of functionalist slogans of theoreticians and prominent creative personalities of international modernism including Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright and Alvar Aalto.1 Plečnik had for years remained largely unrecognised even though one of his works, Church of the Sacred Heart, first drawn in 1922 (5.1), arriving at a final design in 1927, dominates a square in Vinohrady, Prague – a robust building which can stand alone or be seen as a focus for Plečnik’s work especially in the inventiveness in the use of historical, regional and even local elements in new, original wholes, ranging from minute details, to major planning projects.2 Plečnik’s return to Slovenia from the Czechoslovak Republic was by no means certain for two reasons: in 1920 Plečnik was invited by Tomáš Mašaryk, President of the new Czechoslovak Republic, to be architect in chief in the remodelling and restoration of Hradcany (Prague Castle).
