Scoutcraft Director

Responsibilities: • Plan and direct the overall Program and operation. • Train and provide leadership for those staff working in and for this program area. • Maintain safety standards for the operation of the Scoutcraft Program including facilities and equipment. • Responsible for the Scoutcraft, Handicraft, and the Trail-To-First Class Programs. • Supervise and manage the Handicraft Director. • Make available program material such as books, displays, and tools related to the area. • Make available program material and merit badge counseling related to the Scoutcraft Program. • Stimulate new ideas for programs related to the Scoutcraft Program. • Maintain all equipment and provide weekly inventories of the same for this program area. • Keep accurate records on advancement for this area. • Participate in all camp-wide activities. • Any other such duties as may be assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications: • At least 18 years of age. • Ability to get along with others. • Mature and responsible. • Hold a current Outdoor Skills card from the National School of the BSA. • Experienced in the Scoutcraft related skills. • Be a currently registered member of the BSA. • Live by the Scout Oath and Law in the daily life at camp; meet the standards of leadership as set by the BSA. • Be in good physical condition and able to live comfortably in the rugged camp setting for the summer. • Will be required to live in camp for the season.
