@2020 @2020 1. Siberian Snow Shepherd compared to Black and Tan German Shepherd

• Black and Tan German Shepherd is instinctively protective of its food. As a pup, it will growl and moan if you pet them when they are eating. The will snap at food that you have in your hand. If not corrected as a pup, they can bite you or snap at you as you reach for their bowl while eating.

• Siberian Snow Shepherd instinctively does not moan or growl to protect its food. If it is raised with a black and tan or any other food aggressive dog, a Siberian Snow Shepherd could learn the bad behaviour of protecting its food.

• We were raised with Black and Tan German Shepherds. They tend to be extremely gentle and friendly with family members and aggressive and untrusting of strangers.

• Siberian Snow Shepherds are extremely gentle and friendly with family members and untrusting of strangers but not generally aggressive.

@2020 @2020 2. Siberian Snow Shepherd compared to Husky

• Huskies come in many different shapes and sizes. Siberian Snow Shepherds typically range from 25 to 28 inches at the shoulder. This is taller than typical Siberian Huskies that are 20 to 24 inches at the shoulder. Our male Siberian Husky is a giant at 28 inches. His parents were both extra tall at 26 inches. No he is not an Alaskan Mallamute which can often be even much taller.

• Huskies on a proper diet, tend to be very lean and muscular. Siberian Snow Shepherds are most often very lean. Few Siberian Snow Shepherds can have a slightly heavier and muscular body that is closer to a White German Shepherd or Swiss Shepherd.

• Huskies temperments can vary but there are some general tendancies. If you hear that huskies tend to be instinctively hunters, that is true.

• Siberian Snow Shepherd tends to be instinctively a herder rather than a hunter. Like any herding dog, hunting would have to be a learned or observed trait. For example, if a herding dog ran with a pack of hunters, it would also learn how to participate in hunting and taking down prey. If your Siberian Snow Shepherd runs loose with a husky, it will learn some good and bad traits. We own a Siberian Husky and our Siberian Snow Shepherds only run free with him in our

@2020 electric fenced back yard.

• Huskies are known to be highly intelligent dogs. Siberian Snow Shepherds are highly intelligent but are more reserved as to how they exercise their intelligence. For example, huskies are known to be houdinis. They will escape from any enclosure and mostly just for what seems to be their way of saying: Ha-ha, you can't stop me. I'm an escape artist!

• Siberian Snow Shepherds will escape when there is a need. That need could be food, water, washroom or danger. For example, one owner bought a strong sleeping crate. While at work, the Siberian Snow Shepherd managed to get out of the crate, eat and drink, go to the washroom and re-enter the crate as if the escape had never taken place.

• Huskies tend to only eat what they need. Siberian Snow Shepherds have the same tendancies.

@2020 @2020 3. Siberian Snow Shepherd compared to Swiss Shepherds

• The Swiss Shepherd also called the Berger Blanc Suisse is from the same heritage as the White German Shepherd. Unlike the German Shepherd which are increasingly bred to have slop backs (shorter hind legs and hip joint issues), the Swiss Shepherds are bred to have straight backs.

• Swiss Shepherd is instinctively protective of its food from other dogs and animals. They tend not to be as agressive as the Black and Tan German Shepherd. If not corrected as a pup, their behaviour could escalate.

• Siberian Snow Shepherd tends to be very tolerant to other animals from the same household sharing food and water bowls at the same time. However, it is always a good idea to let each pet to eat from separate bowls.

@2020 @2020 4. Siberian Snow Shepherd compared to Labrador Retreivers

• Labrador Retreivers are fantastic family dogs. They will bark and wag their tails at strangers. They are protective of you and your family. This protection is not aggressive like a Black and Tan German Shepherd, but we have had our Labrador Retreivers protect us from wild life (bears and coyotes) and have stopped strangers from getting too close to us at night.

• Siberian Snow Shepherds are great family dogs. They will warn you of strangers, both of the human and animal kind. Because they are instinctly herding dogs, they will tend to attack only when they feel the threat is imminent.

@2020 @2020 5. Siberian Snow Shepherd compared to Labadoodles

• Labadoodles do not shed but require expensive grooming and hair trimming. They are hypo-alergenic, so they are desired by people that have servere alergies.

• Siberian Snow Shepherds do shed and CANNOT have hair trimming. Removal of their double coat fur can cause hypothermia or hyperthermia.

• One of our family members has a Labadoodle. He loves the social interaction that comes with play, regardless if that play is the human or animal kind.

• Siberian Snow Shepherds also love the social interaction that comes with play, regardless if that play is the human or animal kind.

• Labadoodles are at times trained as emotional support dogs. Two dog trainers that we know only use them when their clients also require that the dogs be hypo-alergenic.

• Siberian Snow Shepherds are desired by individuals that have had husky shepherd crosses and have experience with their intelligence and qualities that make them exceptional emotional support dogs.

@2020 @2020 6. Siberian Snow Shepherd compared to Gerberian Shepsky (cross-black and tan and husky)

• Gerberian Shepsky can range from 30 to 90 lbs and with huge heights variance.

• Siberian Snow Shepherds typically range from 60-75 lbs with heights of 25-28 inches.

• Gerberian Shepsky can have a temperment that is instinctively most like a Black and Tan German Shepherd., or it can have a herding temperment that make it like a Siberian Snow Shepherd.

• Gerberian Shepsky can have a very wide range of colours, markings and body types. There are extremely rare occations where they are identical in appearance to Siberian Snow Shepherds.

@2020 @2020 7. Siberian Snow Shepherd compared to Wolf Dog and Northern Inuit Dog

• Wolf Dog is illegal in many jurisdictions, some jurisdictions will euthanize a wolf dog and even a wolf dog cross.

• Northern Inuit Dog famous for its appearance in the HBO series Game of Thrones. There are some online information that suggest that they can include genetic breeding from German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, , Samoyed and Gray . The mix is not a recognized breed by the major kennel clubs. These dogs have huge variance in looks and sizes. They are not recommend for new dog owners due to their stubborness and quick reactions. See wikipedia for a good overview.

• Siberian Snow Shepherds have Siberian Husky and Swiss Shepherd (same heritage as White German Shepherd) blood lines. They are breed to be wolf like in looks but also be gentle and obedient.
