Norfolk Fire-Rescue Provides COVID Vaccinations to Homebound Residents

Norfolk Fire-Rescue, partnering with the Norfolk Department of Public Health, is providing specially trained firefighter/paramedic vaccinators to administer vaccines to homebound residents. Public Health provides the information of the homebound resident and Fire-Rescue personnel conduct the home visit to administer the vaccine. While they are in the home, Fire-Rescue personnel ask about smoke alarms and check batteries. Staff will also schedule a time to return with a free smoke detector if the resident would like one or needs a replacement. Requests for home smoke alarms can be made through Norfolk Cares at 664-6510, an online from at https://www.norfolk.gov/2333/Smoke-Alarm-Request , or by using the MyNorfolk app on mobile devices.
