Location Buildwas Road, Coalbrookdale, Telford TF8 7BJ Start Monday 23 August, 2 pm Finish Monday 30 August, noon Information The World’s first iron bridge was constructed in the gorge over the river Severn in 1779 at the start of the industrial revolution. The many museum sites that portray the history of the area are all accessible by bus from the main village car park. Blists Hill museum is a Victorian town on a 55-acre site where life and its hardships are shown in detail with people dressed for that era, and the many trades of the workers being acted out. The Coalport China Museum, Jackfield Tile Museum, Museum of the River, Bedlam Furnaces and the Toll House are just some of the attractions, there are many more. Ironbridge is lined on one side with pubs, restaurants and pavement cafes, with quaint cottages on the opposite bank. The rally is situated on a mostly level meadow, a pleasant walk along Dale End park by the river to the Ironbridge. No EHU or disabled facilities. Water and Elsan only. Please arrive with a full water tank. Dog-friendly rally, clean-up is mandatory. Coarse fishing on the river - pay the bailiff on the river bank, fishing tackle shop in the village. We are planning three food evenings: a Fish & Chips supper, Eley’s Hot Ironbridge pasties straight from the oven and a ploughman’s with large Eley’s pork pie. The food cost will be included within the £12 per night cost if sufficient members book the rally. If you are attending the Stourport rally a gap night can be arranged at Stourport. At Junction 6 follow brown signs to Ironbridge. In Ironbridge turn right at the T junction, go past Great Western Hotel.
