3 PENNIES Costumes, created behind curtains, come to life on stage By Norma Payne As Historian, I am responsible for maintaining a history of the Moonlight Angels. In doing this the past history is important and always interesting, for instance in the 2010 issue of Angel Wings, Kathy Brombacher shared her notes on Carlotta Malone. Carlotta got involved as a costumer in 1981, when all three of her children were in the first Moonlight production, Oliver. Kathy adds: “Carlotta and her husband Jim and their daughter, Bets Malone have blessed the Moonlight with their creations, with their dedication and passion.” Carlotta, 37 years later, continues to work behind the scenes creating, fitting and sewing costumes for Moonlight actors. There are so many stories of people who have volunteered and it has kept Moonlight Amphitheatre alive. The Angels have such an active history of supporting the Moonlight Stage Productions and Moonlight Cultural Foundation. Our history is rich because of the many people who have joined, worked on all of the fundraisers, served on committees, sold opportunity tickets and Carlotta Malone tends to her costumes in just given so much of their time and energy. Kudos preparation of the production of Camelot in 1982. to volunteers. Bless them! Vista Press archives.

Angels decorate the Gathering Room at the Adobe By Carrie Gamble Over the years, the Moonlight Angels have been helping the Vista Community Clinic with their annual Holiday Homes Tour by decorating one of several rooms at the local Rancho Vista Adobe in Vista. We traditionally decorate the music room. However, over the years we have been called upon to decorate the chapel, and the dining room. This year, for the first time, we were assigned the large Gathering Room, located in the middle of the adobe. Each year, those of us who help decorate our assigned room have enjoyed the experience. Decorating the Gathering Room took place in Nov. with the Holiday Homes Tour being held in Dec. We look forward to sharing in the joy, by you volunteering to help decorate our assigned room later this year. If you would like to help, check the Barbara Meech, Beverly Gorman and Carrie Gamble box on the volunteer survey sheet found on page 9 decorated the large Gathering Room for the Holiday in this newsletter. Homes Tour in Vista. 4 Angels end year with festive Holiday Treasures event December was a busy year for the Moonlight Angels Auxiliary! In addition to wrapping up end of year projects, the Moonlight Angels Auxiliary hosted the Annual Holiday Luncheon on December 6, 2018. In the spirit of the theme “Holiday Treasures”, each of the fifteen dining tables were curated and installed by a single table host (special thanks to Elaine Davis and Carol Jungerheld for their help) using their own holiday treasures including decorations, flatware, and table dressings. The event was a sold-out success! Auxiliary Chair Jane Penne-Morse greeted the more than 100 guests who attended the event at the El Camino Country Club. The group felt the spirit of giving, as many opportunity baskets and packages were drawn throughout the event. While dining, guests were treated to a special holiday acapella performance by local-group The Holiday Hipsters. At the end of the event, the 2019 Moonlight Angel Auxiliary Committee was introduced and were unanimously voted into their positions. Save the date for our upcoming events! More information is always available online at www.MoonlightFoundation.com/Angels.

Thank You to our Holiday Luncheon basket donors Many thanks to the Auxiliary ladies for donating baskets for our Holiday Treasures December luncheon. To Carrie Gamble for creating another beautiful table-top Christmas tree. And for all the donated gift cards that filled up two wreaths that are always a big hit. Congratulations to all our winners.

We will be asking for donations of baskets for our Spring Luncheon. If you are interested in donating a basket call Barbara Meech at (760) 724-2574. It’ll be a fun afternoon.
