2 | P a g e INTRODUCTION i. The Kerala State Self-Financing Pharmacy College Managements Association (KSSPCMA) has decided to conduct a separate selection procedure for admission to M.Pharm and Pharm.D. (PB) courses 2015-2016, in the member colleges except for NRI

seats and seats that may be set apart for allotment by the state, by individual Colleges. ii. The self financing colleges listed in this prospectus conduct 2 years Post Graduate course in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and 3 Year Pharm.D (PB) course as per the syllabus of the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. iii. A controller of selection and admissions has been appointed for the co- ordination of selection and admission procedure. iv. This prospectus is subject to modification, addition or deletion as may be deemed

necessary by the association and subject to the Judgments of Honorable Courts of Law. v. The prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable to the seats to be filled by the Managements of the self-financing Pharmacy colleges to the M.Pharm and Pharm.D. (PB)

courses for the year 2015-2016 for the colleges who are members of KSSPCMA. vi. Each college will have its own policies of reservation.

COLLEGES AND THE NUMBER OF SEATS i. The details of the member colleges offering Pharm.D. (PB) and M.Pharm courses with the

specialization offered by the college and number of seats are given in the annexure-I. ii. The maximum number of seats in each college is as per the sanction obtained by each college from AICTE / PCI and affiliation from Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. iii. The government and the respective managements are in the process of negotiation for seat sharing. The current understanding is that the managements may permit the Government to fill up 50% of seats. Hence this prospectus is for taking of the balance 50% seats. In case no agreement is arrived at, the colleges will fill up the entire seats. Seats that may remain unfilled by the government also will be filled by the colleges concerned.

3 | P a g e FEE STRUCTURE

The Annual tuition fees now proposed by all the member colleges is Rs. 1,55,000/- (Rupees One lakh seventy five thousand only) for M.Pharm and the annual tuition fee for Pharm. D (PB) will be as that of PharmD course, ie, Rs 200000/-(Rupees Two lakh only). In case the Fee Regulatory Committee decides on any lower fees, the matter will be taken up before the Honourable High Court and the ultimate fees will be as per the directions of the Honourable High Court. If the fee collected is in excess and any such directions, the same will be refunded or adjusted towards future fees. FEE for NRI students

The fee for NRI student will be Rs. 2.0 lakhs per annum for the M.Pharm course and Rs. 3.0 lakhs per annum for Pharm.D course. Discontinuation of the course and payment of liquidated damages

If any candidate discontinues the course after closing of admissions on 31/07/2014 as notified by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur or such other date as could be decided by the competent authority including the court of Law, the candidate has to pay liquidated damages to the tune of full fee of the course. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

M.Pharm:

A candidate who has passed the B. Pharm degree examination from Kerala University of Health Sciences or an examination equivalent to of any other universities recognized by Kerala University of Health Sciences with not less than a total of 50% marks for the B.Pharm degree examination shall be eligible for admission to M. Pharm degree course. The candidate should have undergone B. Pharm degree course in an institution approved by AICTE and PCI.

Pharm.D. (PB):

A candidate who has passed the B.Pharm degree examination of KERALA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES or an examination equivalent thereto of any other University recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences with not less than a total of 50% Marks for B.Pharm Degree examination shall be eligible for admission to Pharm.D. (PB) course. The candidate should have undergone B.Pharm in an institution approved by AICTE and the PCI. Candidates who have passed their B.Pharm course from Universities outside Kerala will be eligible for admission only if their qualifying examination is recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, on the date of application/allotment. The candidate shall fulfill eligibility before last date of application.

HOW TO APPLY

Application Forms:

The Application form together with the information brochure can be obtained from any of the member colleges of the association, offering M.Pharm and Pharm.D. (PB) Course, listed in the annexure I, on payment of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for each course, by cash or by sending Rs.550/- (Rupees Five hundred and Fifty only) by way of DD favoring KSSPCMA, payable at Chalakudy and to such candidates application form and prospectus will be sent by post. Request for application form by post should reach the office of the Controller of Selection and Admissions at Grace College of Pharmacy, Kodunthirappully (PO), Athalur, Palakkad Dt, latest by the 5PM of 20.06.2014. A candidate needs to buy separate application forms for M.Pharm and Pharm.D. (PB) course and he/she can submit his/her preferential options in the format provided. Submission of Application form:

6. Candidates should enclose a self Addressed envelop (25x12 cm Size) affixed with Indian Postage Stamp worth of Rs.40 (Rupees Forty only) with set of Application form.

Note:

1. Applications received late will not be accepted.

2. Incomplete Applications will be rejected.

3. Candidates should not enclose any original certificate along with the application.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Preparation of Common merit list and allotment of candidates:

M.Pharm & Pharm.D. (PB)

Admission will be done on the basis of the Score obtained by the candidates in the GPAT, from among the applicants with eligibility as mentioned above.

Remaining seats will be filled from among the applicants fulfilling eligibility criteria on the basis of mark obtained in B.Pharm Course (Aggregate of IInd, IIIrd and IVth Year B.Pharm). There is no separate mark for the interview.

Reservation of seats:

1. Reservation of seats if any will be as mentioned in annexure of respective colleges.

2. Minority Institutions will have the freedom to fix appropriate reservation to their

community. Details are available in the respective annexure of the respective colleges.

Fee Concession:

Fee Concession will be given as decided by the individual managements / Institutions.

PUBLICATION OF RANK LIST:

A common rank list separate for M.Pharm and Pharm.D (PB) of all the candidates eligible for admission will be published on the website of the Association.

1. M.Pharm: In case of tie, considering the specialization in M.Pharm, applied for, the

percentage of marks obtained in the specific subject of the final year B. Pharm will be added

to the total percentage of marks(Percentage aggregate of IInd, IIIrd and IVth Year B.Pharm) , so as to calculate the rank. Eg:- If more than one student who have applied for M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Chemistry gets same percentage for B.Pharm, the percentage of marks for Pharmaceutical Chemistry in final B.Pharm will be added to the total percentage of marks to calculate the rank. If a tie still exists, the age of the

candidate will be taken into account. The elder will be preferred to the younger.

2. PharmD. (PB): In case of tie, the percentage of marks obtained in the final year B. Pharm

will be added to the total percentage of marks (Percentage aggregate of IInd, IIIrd and IVth Year B.Pharm), so as to calculate the rank. If a tie still exists, the age of the candidate will be taken into account. The elder will be preferred to the younger. 3. Furnishing false information/ particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as cancellation of admission to the course and in addition, it will attract the relevant provisions of Criminal law of the land.

4. Seats lying vacant after the date fixed for the completion of admission will be treated as lapsed seats and can be filled up by the respective colleges from among the application received from the eligible candidates.

5. Allotment to the individual colleges will be made by the association on the basis of

preferential options of the candidate.

7 | P a g e ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Originals of all certificates / documents enclosed with the application should be submitted at the time of admission to the respective colleges.

2. The candidates shall pay full fees at the time of admission.

3. The responsibility of the association and the Office of the Controller of Selection and

Admissions are limited to the conduct of the selection and admission procedure, publication

of the ranks secured by each candidate, preparation of the common merit list and allotment of the candidate to the respective college.

4. Physical Fitness Certificate, Equivalency Certificate, Migration Certificate, Conduct Certificate and Transfer Certificate etc in original should be submitted at the time of admission to the respective colleges

REFUND/ ADJUSTMENT OF FEE

Fee refund will be as per the agreement with Government of Kerala if any or as per PCI norms.

In case of SC/ST candidates, they should remit their fees to the concerned colleges at the time of admission and the same will be refunded in case the Govt. pays the fees to the college.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION/ POINTS

1. No request for the change of selection processes will be entertained, nor the Controller of Selection and Admissions will entertain enquiries with regard to date of Publication of the Rank / Results.

2. If any candidate discontinues the course after closing of admissions as notified by the Controller of Selections and Admissions, the candidate has to pay liquidated damages to the tune of full fee of the course.

8 | P a g e PROHIBITION OF RAGGING

3. Ragging in any form which includes harassment by word, action, gestures, intimidation, coercion, physical or mental insult/ assault, teasing etc, which are capable of causing mental/Physical stress or moral torture or agony to other students or staff inside/ outside the premises of the college or the hostel etc is strictly coming under the word Ragging and is prohibited in all the member colleges. All the member colleges are committed to abolish ragging in their campuses. Hence any student who indulges in any form of ragging will be subjected to the penal action as per provisions of law. Students and parents shall furnish an affidavit at the time admission, to the effect that the student shall not indulge in any form of ragging.

4. Use of Mobile Phone by the students is prohibited in all colleges of the association. Any violation will lead to disciplinary action as deemed fit will be taken by the college authorities.

5. Every student is required to assure strictly to the code of conduct and discipline of the institution to which he/she is admitted.

6. The application form shall be filled after reading & understanding of this prospectus.
