Other actions/Details

. Process questions regarding development of future Romanization tables Discussions between the Task Force, the Library of Congress representative to CC:DA, and the Chair revealed the need for better communications between the involved parties and in fact better identification of the actual parties involved since the other primary player is CC:DA/Chair/2009-2010/3 June 18, 2010 page 2

CC:AAM but no alternative body had been identified previously for those languages//scripts not under CC:AAM’s purview. Commitment was made to discuss this during the CC:DA meeting. Input will be shared with CCS Exec and CC:AAM.

. Task Force for the Review of the Proposed Romanization Tables (2009) The report of the Task Force for the Review of the Proposed Romanization Tables (2009) was forwarded to the Library of Congress. The TF was subsequently discharged. The members were: Helen F. Schmierer, Chair; David T. Jenkins; George Johnston; Robert . Maxwell; Anthony Oddo; and Robert Rendall.

. Task Force for the Review of the Romanization of Greek A second Task Force was necessitated by the narrow scope of the first Task Force’s charge and its subsequent discharge. The second Task Force has a broader charge. Most immediately it was to review the revised table presented by LC and submit a report. But it has a larger task to see the process through to the end and eventual adoption of a joint ALA- LC table.
