Hollywood-skuespiller, danser, tekstforfatter og sanger – Troye Sivan har “the package” og kom som en orkan fra ingensteds med den vanedannende, iskalde elektronika/r&b låten «Happy Little Pill». Singelen gikk rett til #1 i 30 land den første uken den ble sluppet, og her til lands er den allerede listet på både P3 og Radio 1. Med inspirasjonskilder som Lana Del Rey, Frank Ocean, Haim og Lorde slipper Troye sin debut EP «TRXYE» til meget store forventninger til den unge gutten fra Perth.
EP’en inneholder 5 spor, da det allerede utgitte sporet ‘The Fault In Our Stars (MMXVI)’ og singelen ‘Happy Little Pill’. Produksjonen er det 19 år gamle Sivan selv og duoen SLUM som har stått for, mens miksen er gjort av Tom Elmhirst og Jason Cox (Gorillaz, Adele, Empire Of The Sun).
Fansen har allerede fått en forsmak på Troyes musikk via "The Fault In Our Stars", et spor som er å finne i en ny versjon på EP'en. Sangen har allerede blitt en hit og solgt over 100 000 rundt om i verden, med alle inntektene fra sangen donert til Perth barnesykehus.

‘TRXYE’ EP & ‘HAPPY LITTLE PILL’ VIDEO OUT NOW
TRXYE is the debut EP from Troye Sivan, the 19-year-old Perth artist who’s set to confound expectations with the release of his minimalist, beat-driven brand of dark pop. TRXYE, out now and already #1 on the iTunes album chart in Australia, offers up five tracks of rich, atmospheric pop: a genre-smashing blend of beats, ballads, and influences – a sonic tapestry drawing from a love of Lana Del Rey to Frank Ocean to Grimes.
Realised alongside emerging Perth production duo SLUMs and the studio skills of mixers Tom Elmhirst and Jason Cox (who’ve shaped hits for Gorillaz, Adele, Empire Of The Sun and many more), TRXYE is the sound of a young artist announcing himself.
The lead track from the EP, ‘Happy Little Pill’ is aheady introduction of airy and wilful glitches combined with Troye’s rich vocals. The video for ‘Happy Little Pill’ directed by Jeremy Koren (Grey Ghost) was revealed earlier this week through Troye’s tumblr. Says Koren of the video “The song screamed loneliness to me, so I screamed loneliness back at it. I wanted to create a kind of collage of feeling to describe the song using a bunch of abstract moments in time”.

Fans have already had a taste of Troye’s music via 2013’s ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, a track revisited and reworked on TRXYE. The song is already a sleeper hit, selling 100,000 around the world, with all proceeds from the song donated to a Perth children’s hospital.
Troye Sivan is only just getting started and he has plans to make his mark on the musical landscape, “I can honestly say that I made the music I wanted to make,” he says. “That’s how I sleep at night. I’ve already started writing the album, it’s just going to get better and better.”
