The Tulsa City-County Library will sponsor a series of genealogy workshops in July to celebrate family history month.

This year marks the 17th annual family history series, which will kick off with the “Beginning Genealogy Workshop” at 9:30 a.m. July 1 and will continue through July 27. In total, 15 workshops will be offered, and all except two take place at the Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St. The workshops are free and open to the public, according to a release.

The workshops will help people become educated and knowledgeable about the records they need to acquire to research their family history with a virtual tour of the library’s facilities. Additionally, one workshop will feature certified genealogist Mark Lowe, who will talk about how to handle missing or absent records using resources from World War I.

July 1: Beginning Genealogy Workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 1: Start your Research @ the Library from 2-2:30 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 8: Finding Family with Autosomal DNA from 9-10:30 a.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 8: Explore the Rich Resources of the Gilcrease Museum: Art, Archives, Archaeology and Library Collections from 10:45 a.m. to noon at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 8: Genealogy University from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 8: DIY Digitize from 2:45-4 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 12: Overview of Ancestry Library Edition from 3-4:30 p.m. in Nathan Hale Library

July 22: Researching in the WWI Collection at the University of of Tulsa’s McFarlin Library from 1:30- 2:30 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 22: WWI Era Research at the Genealogy Center from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Frossard Auditorium

July 27: TCCL’s Deep Web Resources for Genealogy Research from 2-3 p.m. at Hardesty Regional
