Tuesday 6 - Saturday 17 February

Written by award winning writer Tim Firth, THE BAND is a beautiful story for anyone who grew up with a boyband and how those songs became the soundtrack to their lives.

Danza DEBUT Photo: Johan Persson

Thursday 31 May - Friday 1 June

Following an exceptional career as a ballet star, international dance icon Carlos Acosta launches his brand new company, Acosta Danza.

Based in Havana, the company is made up of the best dancers Cuba has to offer who have trained in both ballet and contemporary dance styles. They will perform new and existing pieces by Cuban choreographers who have rarely been seen outside the country, and commission new pieces from international choreographers who will take inspiration from their iconic nation.

For their UK tour, in which Acosta himself makes a guest appearance, they will perform works by Cuban choreographer Marianela Boán, UK-based Jorge Crecis, Spanish dance-maker Goyo Montero, New York City Ballet resident choreographer Justin Peck and Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

“The line-up of dancers is versatile and very impressive indeed” The Times

“Its 14 dancers have already gelled into a bright, formidable force” The Guardian

It’s 1959 and the teenagers of Rydell High are back at school after their summer break. The duck-tailed, hot-rodding boys, and the gum-snapping, hip-shaking girls conjure up the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical.

Head greaser Danny and good girl Sandy try to relive the Summer Lovin’ of their holiday romance, whilst the rest of the gang sing and dance their way through You’re The One That I Want, Hopelessly , , and more. Devoted To You Sandy Greased Lightnin’ Grease is one of the most popular musicals ever written and is given a new production here by the members of Norwich Theatre Royal’s Youth Theatre Company for the start of the summer holidays.
