Thomas van Dijk, Jim Cremer, Jef de Vries, Gijs Stams, Noah Tinga en Bas Meinders en Nathan de Vries speelden eerder bij RTC Noord. En een goede aanvulling kwam van B.V. Groningen; Yoeri Hoexum en Reinder Brandsma. En met een aantal ervaren DTL spelers Sheyi Adetunji, Jeffrey Sedoc, Tiemen Tijs ten Have werd het team verder aangevuld met Jef de Vries, terug uit Göttingen in Groningen. Een leuk begin, gelijk opgaand 1e kwart, met 3-punters van Jef de Vries en Tiemen Tijs ten Have. Maar ook Zwolle speelt sterk naar het bord, Nesta Agasi en heeft een pure schutter in Bart van Schaik. Na 10 minuten 14-16. Een licht voordeel voor Donar DTL. In het 2e kwart nam Donar afstand, de selectie is breed met 14 spelers, en Zwolle kwam niet verder dan een 7-mans rotatie. Per 1 mei 2019 heeft Marion Arends het bestuur verlaten, haar taken zijn vooralsnog verdeeld onder de andere bestuursleden. Aan het eind van het seizoen is Marieke Abbink afgezwaaid als bestuurslid commerciële zaken, haar opvolger is Henk Emmens. SPORTIEF Donar startte het seizoen onder leiding van coach Erik Braal en assistent-coach Meindert van Veen met een selectie van 13 spelers. In de loop van het seizoen is Jordan Callahan vervangen door Lance Jeter, en is afscheid genomen van Jobi Wall. Zijn beoogde vervanger Laron Dendy kon niet overtuigen, om die reden is het seizoen met 12 selectiespelers afgemaakt. Daarnaast hebben de jeugdspelers Sheyi Adetunji en Reinder Brandsma enkele invalbeurten gemaakt. Donar speelde dit seizoen 7 oefenwedstrijden en 70 officiële wedstrijden. Van de 34 thuiswedstrijden werden er 33 in MartiniPlaza gespeeld en 1 in Leek (FIBA Europe Cup poulewedstrijd tegen Istanbul BBSK). In de loop van het DBL- seizoen is Dutch Windmills uit de competitie gehaald. Het totaal aantal toeschouwers dat Donar trok bij de 34 thuiswedstrijden was 120.060, gemiddeld 3.531 per wedstrijd (een nieuw record). Het gemiddeld aantal toeschouwers bij de thuiswedstrijden in MartiniPlaza was 3.550, dat is bijna 70 meer dan het oude record uit seizoen 2017-2018.
