21 December 2017: tickets go on sale for Mercedes-Benz Summer of Concerts 2018

On 21 December 2017, tickets go on sale for the second Summer of Concerts from 5 to 8 July 2018 with four concerts. Two of the concerts have already been confirmed: the two rappers Savas & Sido will play on 5 July, with Clueso performing as a further act on 6 July 2018. Further concerts, artists and dates will follow. An innovation: all performances in 2018 will take place on the large festival stage at the Museum. The 68 revolution in the upper medium-size category

Precisely 50 years ago, on 9 and 10 January 1968, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the completely redeveloped saloons in the upper medium-size category in Sindelfingen. Hans Herrmann is celebrating his 90th birthday this year

On 23 February 2018, the motor racing legend Hans Herrmann will reach the age of 90. In February Mercedes-Benz and will hold a birthday party in his honour at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Centre in Fellbach. Herrmann achieved International fame as a Mercedes-Benz works driver in 1954 and 1955. As an up-and-coming young driver, he competed for the brand in the successful Silver Arrows of that period, the W 196 R Formula 1 racing car and the 300 SLR (W 196 S) racing sports car. Caracciola’s 432.7 km/h on a public road on 28 January 1938: A Mercedes-Benz record for practically all time On 28 January 1938, driving the Mercedes-Benz W 125 twelve-cylinder record-breaking car, racing driver Rudolf Caracciola established a world speed record on a public road: he reached 432.7 km/h over a flying kilometre on the autobahn between Frankfurt am Main and Darmstadt. New dimensions of passive safety

In every epoch the future of the car needs strong innovations for safety and comfort. 60 years ago, for example, Mercedes-Benz made headlines with a multitude of pioneering solutions in this field. They ranged from the seat belt as an optional extra through petrol direct injection in volume production to the power steering system and air conditioning system. "30 Years of the DTM" at the Mercedes-Benz Museum

30 years ago, Mercedes-Benz began its official involvement in the German Touring Car Championships (DTM). On 4 May 2018 in Hockenheim, the final chapter in the DTM story of the Stuttgart-based brand will start with the opening race of the 2018 German Touring Car Masters. The brand has won a total of eight championship titles and 16 vice-championships since 1988 – making it the most successful manufacturer in the history of the series. The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” is regarded as the sports car of the century. Its interior is characterised by chequered upholsteries like the ones used in the 300 SL sports car (W 194). Star-studded start to the season

Special AMG exhibition extended at the Mercedes-Benz Museum

The special exhibition “50 Years of AMG” at the Mercedes-Benz Museum is a resounding success which has drawn over 150,000 visitors to date. Accordingly, the exhibition presenting the history of AMG is to be extended from 8 April to 6 May 2018.
