ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI PRAHLAD SINGH PATEL) (a) At present, India has 38 World Heritage Properties. The details of World Heritage Properties are placed at Annexure-I. (b) & (c) Expenditure details on World Heritage sites, protected by Ministry of Culture through Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), have been provided at Annexure-II. All the sites under the Ministry are conserved as per ASI’s Conservation Policy and are in good shape. (d) At present, India has 42 sites listed under Tentative List which is a pre-requisite condition for inscription as World Heritage Site. ‘Dholavira: A Harappan City’ has been submitted for nomination of World Heritage Site in 2019-2020.
