River outlook and Forecast: All the major rivers are in rising trend except the Surma.

 According to the information of Bangladesh Meteorological Department and India Meteorological Department, there is chance of widespread medium to heavy rainfall with very heavy rainfall at some places in the Northern, North-Eastern part of Bangladesh along with adjoining Assam and Meghalaya states of India in next 24 to 48 hours. Also there is chance of medium to heavy rainfall in Bihar and Nepal adjacent to the North-Western region of the country.  The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and -Padma rivers may continue rising in next 72 hours and the Jamuna river at Serajganj may cross danger level in next 24 hours  The major rivers in Sylhet and Rangpur divisions including the Surma, Kushiyara, Kangsha and Dharala may rise rapidly in next 24 hours.

Government Initiatives: NAWG Preparation:  MoDMR of GoB allocated 17,500 MT GR rice and 29,300,000  NAWG is closely observing the flood BDT GR cash. situation. Will update every 24 hours.  Local Government administration already distributed 20,000 dry  NAWG already updated and prepared the th food package on 12 July 2019. The distribution is ongoing secondary pre-crisis data set for the  Several shelter are opened and kept ready. In hill tract districts, anticipated risks areas. the landslide vulnerable families are relocated to the safe shelter  All NAWG members specially those who has such as school, public building etc. presence in affected districts are requested to

BDRCS : BDRCS has also allocated hygiene parcel boxes for the following districts: Netrokona (500 boxes), Bandarban (500 boxes), Chattagram (400 boxes), Sunamganj (400 boxes), Rangamati (400 boxes), Cox’s Bazaar (300 boxes), Khagrachari (200 boxes) and Chattagram City (200 boxes).

Thirty RCY volunteers have been working since 7th July 2019 supporting the awareness programme, evacuation, providing first aid and supporting local administration in distributing foods to the affected people who have been evacuated. They are also supporting the fire service and civil department in repairing the main road that connects Rangamati with Chattogram and the rest of the country. BDRCS NHQ has opened an Emergency Control Room (phone: +880 29 355 995) and advised all its staff to be on high alert for possible deployment.
