Safety is our priority Health and safety is at the heart of everything we do – and we have specific plans to manage potentially dangerous materials or work. When we take down a building or structure, we remove any dangerous materials and strip the building back to its base structure. Once the frame is exposed, we make final checks to confirm our demolition plan is correct. Finally, we will begin demolition, following our bespoke plan. We use a variety of equipment to safely bring a building down and sort the materials. The demolition waste is sorted and recycled wherever possible, helping us to meet our high recycling targets.

Working hard to reduce potential impacts We will minimise disruption with strict limits on the number of vehicle movements in and out of the British Car Auctions site each day. We will also reduce potential impacts from demolition like noise, dust and vibration by putting up protective barriers where required following a risk assessment, The above image shows demolition of the and monitoring these issues at all times as the work former UK Mail building on Wolseley Drive, progresses.
