Chautala to continue as party chief, contest polls : INLD By : INVC Team Published On : 19 Jan, 2013 03:35 PM IST Sukhjeevan Sharma,, INVC,, Panchkula,, INLD announced that Om Parkash Chautala would continue to lead the party and also contest Haryana Assembly elections due in 2014, despite his conviction by a Delhi court in a case of illegal recruitment of over 3,000 junior basic trained teachers in the state. 78-year-old Chautala and his son Ajay would contest the state polls, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) state President Ashok Arora told reporters. Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, his MLA son Ajay Chautala and 53 others including two IAS officers were convicted on corruption and other charges by a Delhi court for illegally recruiting 3,206 junior teachers 12 years back. “The verdict of the Delhi court is not final. The party will challenge the decision in a higher court and both will come out clean as ultimately the truth will prevail,” he said, adding that there is no bar on sitting MLAs and MPs, who have been convicted, to contest elections. Stating that the party would challenge the verdict after the quantum of sentence is announced on January 22, Arora said that INLD was fully prepared to face any situation, including what he described was a vilification campaign launched against it by Congress and the Kuldeep Bishnoi-led Haryana Janhit Congress. Arora said that the scam in the selection of teachers in 1999 – for which 53 others have been convicted along with the father-son duo – was set in motion by the then Bansi Lal-led Haryana Vikas Party (HVP) government before Chautala took over. -

The Political Handbook of the World: 2005-2006 includes an entry on the INLD that indicates that at the 2004 general election in India, “the INLD won no seats.” The party had broken “with the BJP [Bharatiya Janata Party] shortly before the 2004 general election”. The INLD also “lost control of Haryana at the March 2005 state elections” (Banks, Arthur S., Muller, Thomas C. & Overstreet, William R. (eds) 2006, Political Handbook of the World: 2005-2006, CQ Press, Washington, p. 517 – Attachment 2). Haryana Assembly Election 2014
International Journal of Applied Research 2015; 1(13): 480-487 ISSN Print: 2394-7500 ISSN Online: 2394-5869 Impact Factor: 5.2 Haryana assembly election 2014: Saffron tsunami IJAR 2015; 1(13): 480-487 www.allresearchjournal.com sweeps the state Received: 01-10-2015 Accepted: 02-11-2015 Pratap Singh, Ashok Kumar Pratap Singh Research Scholar, Dept. of Abstract Geography, M.D. University, Rohtak, Haryana, In a historic shift in power in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party, for the first time has emerged as the India. largest single party with absolute majority, paving the way for the formation of a stable and “Centre- supported” government. The BJP, which only had four MLAs in 2009 assembly election in Haryana, Ashok Kumar easily crossed the halfway mark of 45 in the 90-member Assembly by winning 47 seats. The incumbent Assistant Professor (extension), Congress government led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda failed miserably despite ruling the state for 10 at S.K. Govt. College Kanwali, years. It could manage a distant third with only 15 seats. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), the main Rewari, Haryana, India. opposition political party in Haryana, managed to back only 19 seats, a significant drop from the 31 seats it had won back in 2009, establishing itself as a weak runner up for the second consecutive time. The HJC (Haryana Jan hit Congress-BL) and BSP have been reduced to fringe players in the state politics. The results indicate that the era of piggy back riding its way to power are over for the BJP. The BJP will no longer play second fiddle to the regional parties in the future. -
Many Coalitions Such As 1967, 1977 Etc. and All These Coalitions Were Unsuccessful Due to Factions in the Party
many coalitions such as 1967, 1977 etc. and all these coalitions were unsuccessful due to factions in the party. After 10-12 year of militancy Punjab politics changed, after 1992 there was stable governments of Akali-BJP 1997, Congress - 2002 etc. The role of Akali Dal in re-organisation of state is important. Akali Dal made such demands which were against the Indian constitution. The party passed Anandpur Sahib Resolution which set the path for the other regional parties for the demand of greater power within the Union. Akalis and Congress rivalry resulted in polical instability in Punjab. Another point which is proved by the above discussion is that the Dal was always against the Centre or the Congress. The Akalis always have had alliance with the party having its base in Hindu community. There were some tensions between the both partners but they do not have any other option to keep Congress out of power. STATE POLITICS OF HIMACHAL PRADESH Himachal, known as 'Dev Bhumi' in the ancient times is situated in the heart of the Western Himalayas. The word 'Himachal' derives its origin from two Hindi words, 'Him' and 'Anchal' meaning 'snow' and 'lap' respectively. Etymologically, it stands for the region which lies in the slopes and foothills of snow (Sharda 2010, pp.48-62). To its north lies the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttaranchal. Uttar Pradesh in the South East, Haryana to the south and Punjab in the west, whereas on the east it forms India's border with Tibet. At the time of its birth on IS''' April 1948 as a part 'C state of the Indian union Himachal Pradesh consisted of about 30 princely states was totally undemocratic, the society was highly feudal and the economy was extremely primitive, almost tribal.
