As soon as Rick Kline saw his son on the University of Phoenix Stadium field, he gave him a big ole' hug and a high five.

Rick Kline's voice didn't sound super Tuesday morning, but that didn't really matter. The Super Bowl experience was something he and his family will never forget.

"It was just incredible," Rick Kline told Cincinnati.com by phone while waiting for his connecting flight in Denver Tuesday morning.

The Kline family arrived in Arizona last Thursday. The family sat in Section 123, Row 22 at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The family was able to get on the field immediately after the game for the Super Bowl XLIX celebration. Rick said he was cheering and yelling after the game.

Kline, a 2008 Mason graduate, held the Lombardi Trophy late Sunday night in Glendale and sent a photo to Comets coach Brian Castner. New England won 28-24 over Seattle (/story/sports/nfl/super/2015/02/01/new-england-patriots-seattle-seahawks-super-bowl- xlix/22718137/) after the Patriots' made an interception on the goal line to secure the New England title.

"On the last drive it was nerve-racking to say the least," Rick Kline said. "Our prayers were answered."

Kline, who won a state wrestling title at Mason, just completed his second year of a three- year contract as an undrafted free agent. He has proudly represented Mason (/story/sports/2015/01/25/mason-high-school-proud-of-new-england-patriots-ol-josh-kline-as- he-prepares-for-super-bowl-xlix/22316093/) all season, according to his family and the Mason football program.

Kline did not play Sunday, but his family was elated at Josh's world championship. The family was able to experience the after party until about 3 or 4 a.m. at the players' hotel.

"That was awesome," Mason coach Brian Castner said. "...It's a great accomplishment not just for the Kline family but a Mason family accomplishment."
