Clearleap Launches into Authentication Business, Quickly Enabling TV Everywhere for Service Providers

Named “Approved Provider” by NCTC for TV Everywhere Services

Duluth, Ga. — July 19, 2012 —Clearleap, the leading provider of IP‐based video solutions for the television industry, today announced the availability of its ClearPlay Authentication service. The new managed service transparently authorizes and authenticates subscribers on major content provider portals, allowing service providers to rapidly enable TV Everywhere.

ClearPlay Authentication is integrated with Adobe Pass, a leading authentication solution supporting approximately 90 percent of all US pay TV households, offering subscribers the flexibility of a single, persistent login as they travel from site to site across the Internet or other content portals. Adobe Pass supports a number of popular PayTV networks including NBCU, CNN, TBS, TNT, tru TV, and Cartoon Network. Clearleap’s authentication service is also integrated with HBO’s proprietary system, to securely connect PayTV subscribers with HBO Go.

In addition, the National Cable Television Cooperative, an organization that provides member cable companies access to programming networks and industry leading technology companies and products, has named Clearleap an Approved Provider for TVE services. Independent cable operators now have access to the same Clearleap platform used by larger organizations, at NCTC negotiated prices.

"The NCTC, as guided by a member advisory group, is partnering with companies that can provide simple solutions for our members while acting as thought leaders in our industry, and Clearleap offers our members another strong choice for expanding their TV Everywhere service," said Rich Fickle, NCTC CEO & President. "We were attracted to a partnership with Clearleap because of their track record in enabling service providers with streaming solutions that allow operators to offer their own, custom branded experiences on connected devices, tablets, and PCs. We have a desire to enable IP content for TVE as well in home gateways and IP VOD platforms. Clearleap is a company that will help us get there."

“ClearPlay authentication ensures subscribers can access the content they , at any time, on their choice of device, anywhere,” said Clearleap CEO Braxton Jarratt. “Service providers will find it easy and quick to deploy, helping meet their customers’ demands while staying on top of programming and licensing issues.”
