SPONSORED BY COUNCILMEMBER STONER 2 A JOINT MOTION AND RESOLUTION OF THE METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL 311 AND THE PIERCE COUNTY COUNCIL APPOINTING Bay Scbow TO REPRESENT LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT NO. 30 IN THE WASHINGTON STATE SENATE. 4 WHEREAS, a vacancy has been created in the 30th Legislative 5U District, Washington state Senate, because of the resignation of Senator Pete von Reichbaueri and _ 6 WHEREAS, Legislative District No. 30 is a multi-jurisdictional 711 District located partly in King County and partly in Pierce County, and the Washington state Constitution, Article II, section 15, 811 provides that in the event of a multi-jurisdictional vacancy, that the vacancy shall be filled by joint action of the Boards; and 9 WHEREAS, the Washington State Republican Central Committee has IOU submitted the names of three nominees for the Senate vacancy for consideration by the Metropolitan King County Council and the Pierce 1111 county Council, and the two Councils have met in a joint special meeting and have interviewed the nominees; NOW THEREFORE, 12 BE IT MOVED AND RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL 1311 AND THE PIERCE COUNTY COUNCIL: 14 U section 1. Ray Schow is one of the three nominees recommended by the Washington State Republican Central committee, and 1511 is qualified to fill the Senate vacancy representing District No. 30. 1611 section 2.
