WEEKLY “NOTES & NUGGETS” FROM THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME ’ HISTORIC RECORD ON DISPLAY IN CANTON; ANTHONY MUÑOZ CONNECTS WITH STUDENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

CANTON, OHIO – The following is a sampling of events, happenings and notes that highlight how the Pro Football Hall of Fame serves its important mission to “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE!”

BREES SETS CAREER PASSING YARDAGE RECORD; MEMENTOS PLACED ON DISPLAY IN CANTON 18 HOURS LATER New Orleans Saints Drew Brees set the NFL’s all-time record for passing yardage on Monday night. He immediately headed to the sideline where he presented the football thrown on the historic play to Hall of Fame President & CEO David Baker.

Following the game, Brees handed off his uniform to the Hall of Fame. Within 18 hours of the record-setting play, those items arrived at the Hall of Fame and were placed on exhibit in the Pro Football Today Gallery.

Guests at the Hall of Fame watched as the curatorial team from the Hall of Fame placed the artifacts on exhibit. Fans following the Hall of Fame on social media (@ProFootballHOF) were treated to the exclusive content surrounding Brees’ record-setting play.

KIRK COUSINS’ FEAT PRESERVED IN CANTON A football from the game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 7 arrived at the Hall of Fame this week. The ball commemorates the history-making feat by the Vikings’ QB Kirk Cousins as he became the first quarterback to complete at least 30 passes in four consecutive games.

ROBERT BRAZILE’S RING OF EXCELLENCE CEREMONY The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Kay® Jewelers, the Official Jewelry Store of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will honor Hall of Famer ROBERT BRAZILE on Sunday, Oct. 14 when the Tennessee Titans host the Baltimore Ravens.

Fans at the Week 6 matchup will witness Class of 2018 Enshrinee Brazile receive his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence during a special presentation. The Hall’s President & CEO David Baker will present Brazile his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence. The game is slated to kick off at 3:25 PM CT at Nissan Stadium.

The Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is one of three iconic symbols that represent the elite status of being a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Brazile received his Hall of Fame Gold Jacket and unveiled his Bronzed Bust during the Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls this past August.

HEART OF A HALL OF FAMER – HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH The Heart of a Hall of Famer series, part of the Hall of Fame’s Youth & Education programming, provides students the opportunity to learn first-hand what it took beyond athletic ability for legendary Heroes of the Game to achieve success on and off the field. A special Heart of a Hall of Famer program took place on Tuesday, Oct. 9 featuring ANTHONY MUÑOZ as part of Hispanic Heritage Month and the program was translated to Spanish.

More than 300 youth from local schools were on hand at the Hall of Fame for the opportunity to learn first-hand from Muñoz what it took beyond athletic ability for legendary Heroes of the Game to

achieve success on and off the field with a focus on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Values of Commitment, Integrity, Courage, Respect and Excellence.

In addition, the program was streamed via Facebook Live reaching more than 7,000 people, including students from Riverview Elementary in Cincinnati, Ohio; the American Spartans Football Team from San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico; St. Pius X High School in Albuquerque, N.M.; and Mendota High School in Mendota, Calif.

ANTHONY MUÑOZ INSPIRES STUDENTS: “It doesn’t matter where you come from, what you have, the color of your skin - look for resources, look for mentors, look for opportunities to dream and dream big and accomplish those dreams. But, it’s not going to happen unless you commit yourself to it.”

“A FOOTBALL LIFE: ” The Pro Football Hall of Fame will have screenings of NFL Network’s “A Football Life” on Saturday, Oct. 13. Showcasing the lives and careers of legendary players, coaches and executives, NFL Films examines the untold stories of the most influential NFL icons with unprecedented access. Each documentary tells the story of how their legacy is forever intertwined into the fabric of NFL history.

Class of 2018 Enshrinee BRIAN DAWKINS will be featured on “A Football Life” this week. Screenings will take place in the Hall’s Gold Jacket Lounge at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
