Last season, after finishing fourth for four consecutive years, Texas A&M earned the highest finish in the SEC, taking third at the NCAA DI Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. Georgia, the defending champions, finished just 40 points behind the Aggies to take fourth. Four other teams manged to finish in the top 25. Missouri and Kentucky finished back- to-back at 13th and 14th, respectively. Auburn earned 18th place, and Tennessee rounded out the top 25 for t he SEC, finishing 22nd. The conference has placed 101 women’s teams in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships, and the SEC has compiled 251 individual NCAA titles. At the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, and Alabama each earned spots within the top 10 teams at the event, marking the 49th consecutive season in which the SEC has placed at least one men’s team in the top 10. Since 1969, 136 SEC teams have finished in the NCAA’s top 10.
