The weather for the Buxton Mountain Time Trial tends to be either very good or very bad and this year tended towards the cold and damp, adding to the challenges. The event continues to grow with a record entry of 155 riders, and, to everyone's credit, it once again went well. The assistance with analysing and displaying the results by Keith Lawton, the overall organiser of the RTTC Classic Series, along with the efforts of those listed above, kept things firmly on track. A huge thank you to all the marshals and helpers who worked so hard to make it happen. Despite the conditions, Matt Bottrill was only 4 seconds from the course record as he took the Men's event for the 7th time. Congratulations to Katie Archibald for winning the Women's event for the second year running from a super-strong field and to Rik Waddon (Paracyclists), Nicholas Cooper (Juniors), Pete Greenwood (Vets on Target), Julian Ramsbottom (Vets on Actual), Andrew Magnier (Athletes 3 laps)and Joe Le Sage (Athletes 2 laps). Finally, thanks again to our sponsors who have ensured that this event has one of the best prize lists in English time trialling!

Event Sponsorship Detail Design Engineering Once again Buxton CC has received very generous cash sponsorship from Detail Design Engineering Ltd to allow us to award great prizes across the board. Unequalled expertise has earned Detail Design Engineering an enviable reputation across a broad spectrum of private and public sector clients for the design, installation and maintenance of building management systems. Hotel Milano Helvetia, Italy The Buxton CC Mountain TT has also been sponsored by Hotel Milano Helvetia, Riccione in Italy (www.hotelmilano.net), one of the area's famous "Bike Hotels". The hotel has awarded prizes of 2 five day stays at the hotel on their "Plus" package for cyclists, one for the winner of the Men's event and one for the winner of the Women's event. During their stay, the package will give our winners bed, breakfast, evening meal and post-ride afternoon buffet along with the assistance of a guide to show them the best local routes (with the hotel's other guests of course). Bike hire is available at the hotel, if required. The Hotel Milano Helvetia will, in addition, be offering a 10% reduction on the cost of their stay (excluding extras like bike hire and bar bills, of course) to ALL ENTRANTS to the event + all marshals and helpers! Sett Valley Cycles Sett Valley Cycles is the Buxton CC club sponsor, supporting us in many ways in addition to their prizes for the Buxton Mountain TT. Sett Valley Cycles is a traditional style bike shop situated in the heart of New Mills on the edge of the Peak District, one of the most spectacular areas in the country for both road and mountain biking. They awarded limited-edition SVC coffee cups and cycling gloves to 8th placed riders in the men/espoirs race and the women's race. The Old Wooden Spoon Bakery The Old Wooden Spoon Bakery is a new venture by Buxton CC member Louise Clark which produces home-made cakes, jams and other preserves for sale in local outlets including Sett Valley Cycles and Henshalls Butchers in Chinley. Louise awarded cakes as prizes to the fastest 5 veterans who stayed for the presentations.
