Re: City Council May 5 2021 TE24.96 Supporting Square Working Group Process with Additional Information and City Council May 5 2021 MM32.5 Call to Publicly Release the Signed 350 page 200-year Lease Agreement…

Mayor Tory and City Councillors

The South Armour Heights Residents’ Association (SAHRA) is a neighbouring residents’ association to the Midtown area. Our residents work, shop and play in this area. We are writing to express our concerns about the proposed Oxford application for the Canada Square (CS) site.

We support the motion TE24.96 calling for a reporting at this meeting on a summary timeline of the Canada Square history and public release of all relevant information and providing City Council with a summary as how the Yonge-Eglinton Focused Review informs City Planning’s assessment of the current proposal by Oxford Developments on the Canada Square site.

We also support the motion MM32.5 which asks that the signed agreement with Oxford Properties regarding Canada Square Lands and all related documents be made available to the public and that City Council refer the development application at this site to the Planning and Housing Committee for review.

SAHRA strongly supports the comments and recommendations contained in the letters submitted by the Federation of Residents’ Association regarding the importance of the development of this site, as a lynchpin to the whole area.

Sincerely

Sheila Harrison (Secretary)
