Nadine Purcell started a basic outline for the index. We thank her for sharing her work with us.

The first newsletter was done in December 1979. Eleanor Best was the editor. Issue no. 7, September 1981, featured material by Complex Weavers Canadian members under the coordinator Marceline Szpakowski. Through issue number 9 the size was 8.5 by 11.0 inches. Starting with issue 10 the size was changed to 5.5 by 8.5 inches with a brown cover. That was the first issue done on a typesetter, a real experience as Eleanor had never used one before. The following issue was computer generated typeset- ting. Eleanor continued as editor through January of 1994.

Starting with issue no. 45, May 1994, Wanda Shelp became the editor. The name and size were changed with issue no. 62 in January 2000. At that time the publication became the Complex Weavers Journal and the page size was once again 8.5 by 11.0 inches. For issue no. 65, January 2001 the cover format was redesigned by Pam Marriot. Kathleen French was guest editor for issue no. 75, May 2004. Wanda was editor through May of 2005.

Judie Eatough became editor in October 2005 with issue No. 79. Linda Davis was editor starting with issue No. 82, October 2006, continuing through issue No. 93, June 2010. With issue No. 91, October 2009, Linda divided the publication into two sections: the Journal and organization information. The organization information is not included in the index. Beginning with issue No. 94, October 2010, Lynn Smetko became the Journal editor and Deborah Holcomb the Newsletter (organization information) edi- tor.

Through the efforts of our first and current webmasters, Ingrid Boesel and Jo Earl, many color pictures and other graphics from the past ten years of the Journal are displayed and archived on the Complex Weavers website: http://www.complex-weavers.org.

There have been two compilations containing the articles from the Newsletter and Journal. The first, edited by Eleanor Best, covers 1979 to 1989. This compilation was distributed in July of 1990.The second compilation was edited by Wanda Shelp and contains May 1989 through September 1997. This was available in 1999.

Without the generous contributions made by the authors of the articles in the Newsletters and Journals, this publication would not be possible. All involved with the Newsletter/Journal, whether they are authors, editors or indexers have volunteered their time and talents. Complex Weavers Newsletter/Journal Index For Volumes 1 Through 96 The first number in an entry is the volume number and the second is the page number. Compilation page numbers are used for volumes #1- #32. If you have the original publications for these, the index is on each issue’s cover and will enable you to find the page number. Volumes #33 and subsequent issues use Newsletter/Journal page numbers .

After the heading ‘Study Groups, Featured’ the first article in the Journal issue is listed.. Usually this is followed in the Journal or the Compilations by other articles from the group.
