SUMMER SKILL DEVELOPMENT CLASSES BY APSSDC from 15.05.2019 to 15.06.2019

Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation conducted skill development classes in the College for one month, i.e. from 15.5.2019 to 15.6.2019. Inaugural function of this programme was conducted on 15.5.2019. APSSDC District manager, Sri.Sk.Khayyum said that in this training programme, students will be trained in Communication skills, Computer skills and Analytical skills. He also said that it is a good opportunity to the students in summer vacation.

Staff Meeting held on 12.6.2019 at Principal ‘s Chamber

Principal Dr.V.Bharatha Lakshmi conducted a staff meeting on 12.6.2019, the reopening of the College, after summer vacation. All the staff members attended the meeting. Principal discussed about the Academic schedule and admissions for the Academic year 2019 – 2020. All the staff members are informed to take care about the admissions of the College.

Dr.V.Vara Prasada Rao, M.L.A. Constituency visited College and met Correspondent Dr.C.R.Reddy garu and Principal Dr.V.Bharata

Lakshmi garu. He appreciated Dr.C.R.Reddy garu for his services towards Medical side and Education side. He said that this College is a boon to Gudur girls. INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATED ON 21.6.2019

International Yoga Day has been celebrated in the College premises on 21.6.2019. Dr.C.Vijayakala, incharge Principal explained about the importance of Yoga . She said that for every human being , yoga is a good method to develop mentally and physically. Staff and students attended the programme.

APSSDC Conference on “Development of Multi skills for Girl students” held on 26/06/2019 at Tadepalli, Guntur

Mr. A.E.P.Hanumantha Rao, Lecturer in Management Studies, attended a Conference, on “Development of Multi skills for Girl students” conducted by State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) at Tadepalli, Guntur District. Around 13 Government and Aided Women Colleges across A.P attended the conference. Dr. A. Srikanth, M.D & CEO, APSSDC explained the need for the development of multi skills in students, especially girl students to meet the employment needs. At present APSSDC is sponsoring courses like Beautician, Hair Stylist, Tailoring, Embroidery, Bakery and also Yoga to Girl students in first phase. D.R.W. College has been selected for this Programme.

STAFF MEETING ON 27-06.2019

Staff meeting has been conducted in the Language lab of College on 27.06.2019. Vice – President of the College, Dr.K.Mehermani, Principal of the College, Dr.V.Bharatha Lakshmi and IQAC Co-ordinator, Dr.P.Kamala Sayi addressed the gathering. Dr.K.Mehermani explained that College has to go NAAC Accreditation for IV Cycle, in the month of October. She has allotted seven Criterions of NAAC SSR to Seven senior faculty as steering committee. She also advised all the staff members to cooperate in completing the NAAC work successfully.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY N.S.S. ON ‘ BEST PRACTICES TO AVOID NOISE POLLUTION ’ ON 9.7.2019

N.S.S.Units of the College conducted an awareness Programme on ‘ Best Practices to avoid Noise Pollution. They conducted Seminar, Elocution and Essay writing competitions to the students. N.S.S.Units conducted a Rally and given awareness to the public to avoid noise pollution.

D.R.W. College – Gudur” has been invited for a Conference on “Initiating of Multi skilling training Programs in Degree and Pharmacy Colleges” conducted by Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) at Tadepalli, Guntur District. Government, Private and Aided Colleges across A.P and Industrial experts from South and Training Partners across A.P and Telangana attended the conference .Dr. A. Srikanth, M.D & CEO, APSSDC presided the conference along with other officials. CEO and other officials explained the need for the development of multi skills in students, to meet the Pharma Industry employment needs. The following four Job roles identified by the Industrial Experts that help the student for the immediate employment.  Production Chemist with Machine Operator  Lab Assistant and Quality Control  Store Assistant with Store Supervisor  Medical Sales Representatives Principal, Dr. V. Bharatha Lakshmi, DRW College, Gudur has given her willingness to conduct these courses in the College premises. College has to provide separate classroom and labs for each of these courses and APSSDC will provide the Trainers and the equipment required for these course. Course duration is 180 hours and College can plan these courses during weekends or according to College convenience. This program can be conducted for both PG and UG Chemistry students and even for outside girl students.

WORLD POPULATION DAY CELEBRATED ON 11.07.2019

District Youth Welfare office, SETNEL Nellore celebrated World Population day on 11.7.2019 in the College Premises. SETNEL C.E.O. Smt. N.Kanaka Durga Bhavani, Dr.Brijitha of P.H.C. Chillakur, Principal Dr.V.Bharatha Lakshmi , Staff and students parcicipated in this programme. All the members expressed that the only remedy for Nation’s development is Population controal. Prizes have been distributed to the winners of Essay writing and Elocution competitions, conducted by the SETNEL, Nellore.

Youth Skill Day celebrated on 15.07.2019

Youth Skill Day has been celebrated in the College premises on 15.07.2019. APSSDC Co-ordinator Mr.Sreenu conducted Orientation Programme, how to develop Skills .In this occasion, Principal Dr.V.Bharatha Lakshmi expressed her views upon the importance of Plantation. She said that to reduce the water scarcity and pollution, the only remedy is Plantation. After the programme, she planted the saplings in the College premises. Training Programme on Virtual Class Room on 17.7.2019

Under RUSA 2. 0 , three virtual class rooms have been established in the College. Training Programme was conducted on 17.07.2019. Mr. Siva Prasad Reddy trained the Teaching Staff, about how to utilize the Virtual class room. 2nd Phase State level Integration Camp at Kurnool from 17.7.2019 to 21.7.2019

SETNEL, District youth welfare office conducted 2nd phase State level Integration camp at Dr.K.V.Subba Reddy Engineering College, Dupadu, Kurnool from 17.7.2019 to 21.7.2019.Twenty five students were actively participated in this programme . Eminent lectures were arranged on Yoga, meditation, Personality development and Communication skills. Students have benefited so much by this programme.

After the renewal of Autonomous status, the first Governing Body meeting of the College held on 19.7.2019. Dr. K. Mehermani, Vice – President of the College, presided over the meeting. UGC Nominee Dr.Namitha Singh, University Nominee Prof. Ande Prasad, Dr.V.Krishna Kuamar, Retired Principal, Sri. After renewal of Autonomous Status, First Academic Council Meeting was held on 20.07.2019 in the Language Lab. Dr.K.Mehermani, Vice – President of the College presided the Meeting. On the 5th day of Student Induction Programme Sk.Asha Begum, in charge CDPO of ICDS conducted a Orientation Programme on the importance of Mother’s milk, on the occasion of ‘TALLI PALA VAROTHSAVAM’ at DRW College on 2.8.2019.

The Programme was presided over by the Principal, Dr.V.Bharatha Lakshmi. She told about the importance of Mother’s milk. Dr.G.Sasidhar, Medical officer of RBSK, Gudur given orientation programme about the child condition after birth and Mother’s condition after Delivery. He told that Mother’s milk is like a boon to newly born child. He said that it is good for a mother to feed the child up to 2 years. Sarangam Sulakshmi also said that now a days, some mothers feel that by giving milk, their beauty will reduce. She said that it is wrong . Every mother should have knowledge about the importance of Mother’s milk. Sri. K.Srinivas, Principal of Sri Chaitanya School, taken assurance from the students ( Future Mothers ) that they will feed their children definitely. After that Dr.P.Kamala Sayi, IQAC Co – Ordinator & HOD of Hindi Dept. told about the importance of first day feeding after delivery. Dr.B.Yasoda, HOD of Physics Department and Co – Ordinator of Student Induction Programme thanked all the members for coming this Programme. Dr.M.Bhavani, HOD of Zoology Department said that it is very costly to feed powder milk. So every mother should habituate to feed the child. Sk.Asha Begum, in charge CDPO of ICDS, expressed her views about the condition of a mother after C – Section. She said that it is the responsibility of a mother to feed her child. Dept.of Economics & Dept.of Commerce conducted orientation programme on ‘FIRE SAFETY MEASURES’ on 5/10/2019. Fire safety service organization team, Gudur has given orientation to the Staff and students, how to overcome fire accidents. They have also told about the fire safety measures . B.A. & B.Com final year students , Economics and Commerce faculty participated in this programme and learned about the fire safety measures.

Skill Development Programme by APSSDC for Three Days ( from 21.11.2019 to 23.11.2019)

Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation conducted Skill Development programme for three days, from 21st November to 23rd November. 70th Constitutional Day celebrated on 26.11.2019 by SETNEL, Nellore at College premises

SETNEL, Nellore celebrated 70th Constitutional Day in the College premises. Principal Dr.V.Bharatha Lakshmi presided the function. Dr.K.Saradamma, Retd.Lecturer in Political Science was the Chief guest. She said that that every one must know about the Rights and Duties, which were fetched in the Constitution. Prizes have been distributed to the students, by the SETNEL who won in the Elocution competition. 100 students benefited by this Programme. SETNEL staff Chenchuramaiah, Gayaz and N.Bhaskar participated in this Programme.

Human Rights Day has been celebrated on 10th December 2019in the College premises by SETNEL, Youth services Office, Nellore. They conducted Elocution competition and distributed the Prizes and Certificates to the students. Three days FDP Program organised by AICTE and IIT New Delhi from 17th to 19th December 2019

A.E.P. Hanumantha Rao, Asst. Professor in Management Studies attended the 3 day workshop on “Computing with words via Fuzzy logic with Applications” organised by AICTE at IIT - New Delhi from 17th to 19th December 2019. Program aims to bring knowledge about application areas of CW with fuzzy logic environment to real life problem. Further the use of Fuzzy technique in various Disciplines. Dr. Ashok Deshpande, Fuzzy Engineer delivered the lectures for these 3 days via his presentations along with real life experiments, 31 faculty across India participated in the workshop. High lights of the workshop Dr. Ashok Deshpande, Fuzzy Engineer and speaker shared the Dias. A documentary on real time Fuzzy solution in Medical issues, especially on Gynaecology was shown.. A film on Prof. Lotfi Aliasker Zadeh was presented. Dr. Zadeh was a mathematician, computer scientist, electrical engineer, artificial intelligence researcher and professor emeritus of computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. Afterwards felicitation to Dr. Ashok Deshpande takes place. Prof. Dileep N. Malkhede, Adviser-I, RIFD, bureau of AICTE, Col. Venkat, Director, RIFD, along with Dr. Rominder Kaur, Director – Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technolgy, Nes Delhi were shared the dias. After that certificates were issued to participants.

Dept.of Chemistry conducted Guest lecture Programme on 20th December 2019. Dr.N.C.Gangi Reddy , Asst.Prof.in Chemistry, Sri Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa delivered Guest lecture on NMR Spectroscopy. students of II & III B.Sc (C.B.Z. , C.P.Z. ,M.P.C., B.B.C.) have participated in the programme and gained knowledge about NMR Spectroscopy and how to analyze the Organic compounds.

Dr.P.Kamala Sayi, Associate Professor in Hindi received Best Teacher award, Shanthi Devi Memorial Award 2019, ‘Bharath ke Anmol Ratna’ as Life time achievement Award. This Award was given by Tejasvi Asthitva Foundation, New Delhi. She has been awarded this Award of Academic excellence for extraordinary contribution in Education towards development of Bharat – in True Sense. She has received this Award by the Hands of Sri. DN Srivastava, Founder Chairperson of Tejasvi Asthitva Foundation, Dr.G.Srinivas, Joint Secretary of UGC and Dr.Satyanarayana, Former Vice Chancellor of Telugu University on 22.12.2019 at Hederabad.

Training programme cum Workshop on Game development by skylark Educraft (From 07-01-2020 to 31-01-2020)

A 30 hrs Training programme cum Workshop on Game development was conducted at DRW College, Gudur in order to train the students to develop their own games. This workshop has been conducted by skylark Educraft which is a brand of wherewithal Entertainment Pvt Ltd. 26 students were participated in this programme. Sri. B. Sai Vihari Reddy, the game programmer has trained the students with his team. During the training programme students learned the skills to develop and design their own games. Vice Principal Dr.C.Vijayakala and other staff members Smt. Mythili and Ch.Kavitha participated in this Programme.

As a part of Faculty Development programme one week Training Program on “Financial Derivatives” had been arranged by Department of Management Studies in Narayana Engineering College, Gudur. I, A.E.P. Hanumantha Rao, Assistant Professor and Ms. S. Rajeswari, Assistant Professor from Department of Management Studies, DRW College, Gudur, participated along with 5 MBA IV semester students. The Program was conducted from 31/12/2018 to 05/01/2019. On 31/12/2018 Programme was inaugurated at Narayana Engineering College, Gudur by 10.30Am.

The Resource Persons Prof. M. Srinivasa Reddy, Professor, Department of Management Studies, S.V. University, Tirupati and Dr. Gangineni Dhananjhay, NSE Certified Professional (level 5) conducted the programme in 2 sessions throughout the Schedule. In this programme we learnt about Options, Futures, Swaps, European Contracts and American Contracts along with live examples. On 5th January valedictory function was arranged at 3pm at the venue and certificates were distributed to the participants.

Inauguration of FDP on Financial Derivatives

Department of Commerce FIELD TRIP / INDUSTRIAL VISIT ON 4.1.2020

27 Students of III B.Com (Gen. & CA) have visited Loyal Textiles, Naidupet on 4.1.2020. They observed the working Process of Loyal Textiles. Loyal has 3 ginning factories with a capacity of 60000 kgs of lint per day to gin30mm plus extra long staple cotton without contamination. The units follow the best work practices, giving no room for any foreign fiber contamination, besides its own ginning facility. Loyal engages dedicated outside ginning factories located at the prime cotton cultivating areas. These factories function under the strict supervision of Loyal’ s Quality Assurance team. Products of Loyal Textiles are – Yarn, Fabrics, Garments, Home Textiles, Organic Products. Three Faculty members Ms.M.Ramanamma, Ms. Penchalamma, Ms. K.Sujatha accompanied the Students.

Students Visited Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary on 4.1.2020

27 Students of III B.Com (Gen. & CA) have also visited Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary is a Bird Sanctuary in , Andhra pradesh, India, near the Village of Nelapattu. It has an area of 458.92 hectares. It is an important breeding site for Spot-billed pelicans.

About 189 Bird species can be found at Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary,50 of which are migratory.In addition to the spot-billed pelican, it is an important breeding site for White ibis, openbill stork,night heron and little cormorant. Other migratory water birds that visit the Sanctuary include pintain, common teal, dabchick, shoveler, coot, spot-bill duck, grey heron, darter, black- winged stilt and garganey gadwall.

Two days workshop on “Soft Skills” was organized at Audisankara Engineering College, Gudur. A.E.P. Hanumantha Rao, Assistant Professor from Department of Management Studies, DRW College, Gudur, participated along with 18 MBA IV Semester students. The Program was conducted on 09/01/2019 & 10/01/2019. On 09/01/2019 Programme was inaugurated by 10.30Am.

During the first session Mr. Bhargav from Ignis Careers, conducted game events regarding “Positive Thinking”. All the participants enjoyed the session. There was a Lunch break from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

The second session on day1 was on “Goal Setting”. Mr. Bhargav Clearly demonstrated along with live examples about “how to set goals and efforts to be put to achieve them”. Participants received valuable tips on Sentence formation and vocabulary. I addressed the participants and feedback given on the session. Session ends at 4.30pm.

On the second day 10/01/2019, by 9am the session started and Ms. Ribla Moses from Ignis Careers given classes on Soft Skills. Some events on Time Management conducted. During the final session Valedictory was arranged. Mr. Venu Madav, Principal, Audisankara Engineering College facilitated the Trainers and certificates were distributed to participants. With vote of Thanks by Dr. A.M. Mahaboob Basha, HOD, Dept.of Management Studies concludes the 2 day Soft Skills workshop.

DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY FIELD TRIP ON 19.2.2020

Zoology Department conducted Field Trip on 19.02.2020 to III B.Sc B.Z.C & C.P.Z students. In the part of Field Trip they visited Gudur Local Fish Market 22 students along with Teaching faculty Dr. M. Bhavani, Dr. CH. Lalitha Kumari and 2 Non-teaching staff members U.Rama & K.Meenakshi were involved in this programme.

Students observed different types of fresh water and marine water fin fish and shell fishes. Students get the practical knowledge in identification of fishes. They learn marketing strategies.

Department of Botany STUDY TOUR on 25.2.2020

Department of Botany conducted a study tour to S.V. University and Kapila Theertham at Tirupati. They visited Botany dept. at S.V. University and observed Hydroponics cultivation under glass house & Shade net. After that they visited Botanical garden, observed many medicinal plants. Next they visited tissue culture lab. Dr. T. Vijaya explained about the tissue culture methods & importance. Later they observed landscape designing in kapilatheertham and ISCON temple. Students observed types of landscaping, plants used in landscaping i.e. edge plants, corner plants, Devine vines, focalized plants, foliage plants & palms etc. 39 students of III Year C.B.Z. & B.B.C. along with Teaching and Non – Teaching staff attended the Tour.

‘Science Exhibition’ was organized with the support of SETNEL, Nellore On the occasion of National Science Day on 28. 2. 2020.

Duvvuru Ramanamma Women’s College has organized “Science Exhibition” with the support of SETNEL On the occasion of National Science Day on 28th February 2020. Sixty four students from various science departments (Zoology, Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology and Food technology and management) have participated in the exhibition and 39 projects were exhibited. Students are enthusiastically presented their projects and incorporated huge information. SETNEL CEO M.Susmitha garu has attended as Judge and appreciated Principal for her encouragement and support in organizing the Exhibition. CEO has told that such theme oriented exhibitions can motivate students towards scientific temper and also to develop students as best researchers in future. She has expressed her happiness about theme selection, encouraged Student participants to organize such kind of exhibitions early. She has selected first and second prizes. Among 39 exhibits 7 has got first prize and another 7 second prizes from each department. Principal Dr.V.Bharatha Lakshmi has appreciated all the departments and also the students hard work behind the success of exhibition. Dr.B.Yasoda, Asso.Prof.in Physics has expressed vote of thanks to SETNEL officials and all participants.

Science Depts. Conducted Workshop on Start – ups(from 29.2.2020 to 6.3.2020 )

Workshop on Start-ups is aimed to motivate and train students as future entrepreneurs,which was inaugurated on the day of 29 –02-2020.

On 29-3-2020 Forenoon session between 11AM to 1PM. K. S . Bhanu Rekha garu, Asst .Prof from VITS, Kavali has trained students on ultrasonic based distance measurement.

On 1-3-2020 Smt. V. Praveena , Asst . Prof in computer science , has delivered a lecture on Web desining. From 02-03-2020 to03-03-2020 , M. Kotaiah, JENTO site Engineer has trained students on Web desining .

On the day 4-3-2020 Fore noon session, Dr M. Pradeep garu , subject matter specialist KVK , Nellore , has delivered his lecture on Mushroom cultivation. In the Afternoon Session he has gave hands on training on the same.

On 5-3-2020 Sri. S. Harisadu garu, subject matter specialist from KVK , has gave lecturer on F.N Session and showed fish seed and demonstrated on maintaining of fish ponds practices were done in our campus fiels pond.

On the day 6 -3-2020 Forenoon session Dr. M. Pradeep garu has trained our students on Vermi Compost production. The same day Valedictory meeting was conducted by 3p.m.

Students from different disciplines have been attended and trained in this workshop. 50 Students from B.Zc, B.B.C, M.P.E 50 students from MCS have been benefited by this workshop.

Principal Dr.V. Bharatha Laksmi garu has appreciated about the successful completion of the training programme,Thanked all the speakers and Students(Trainees). She has told that College is always encouraging students towards skill development.

Chief guest Dr. M. Pradeep garu has appreciated college Principal about her intension in developing students as an entrepreneurs & addressed students on personality development.

PLASTIC SUFFOCATION CAMPAIGN ON 4.3.2020

Eco club Organizes ‘PLASTIC SUFFOCATION CAMPAIGN’ To Spread Awareness about Plastic Pollution on 4th march 2020 at college premises. On an average, plastic bags are used for 25 minutes and unfortunately, they take minimum 1000 years to degrade, thus polluting world’s oceans and lands. Most of the people are unaware of the fact that one million plastic bags are used every minute. To educate students about its ill-effects and put an end to the rampant usage of plastic carry bags in the campus, eco club members has organized a rally called ‘Plastic Suffocation Campaign’. Under this programme Principal Dr.V. Bharatha lakshmi other faculty members of Botany and Zoology and students were involved.
