The Big Brothers Big Sisters purpose is to match a local youth with an adult volunteer mentor. BBBS does not target or address any particular aspects of behavior, academics, prevention, or risk, but rather emphasizes caring, continuity and consistency in relationships. BBBS simply tries to provide a caring adult friend to a child that needs one. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers: -Over the age of 18 -Valid PA driver’s license -Have transportation & appropriate insurance -Complete an in-home interview -Obtain the PA Child Abuse History Clearance & PA State Police Background Clearance -Ability to listen & offer friendship, guidance and encouragement to a young person.
