TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Traffic will be maintained with lane closures. Suggested alternate routes are US-275 and US-75. Phases 1 through 6 were complete in 2020. Phase 7 includes the following traffic phasing and closures: Phase 7A (April): Long-term shoulder closures and one-lane closures for inlet and bridge rail construction will occur during the daytime from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for approximately four weeks. Phase 7B (April to May): For milling, bridge approach, bridge deck waterproofing and asphalt overlay work, lane closures will occur overnight from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. for approximately five weeks. When construction is occurring on the 50th Street bridge, the northbound 60th Street entrance ramp to eastbound I-80 will be closed. When construction is occurring on the 42nd Street bridge, the southbound 42nd Street entrance loop to eastbound I-80 will be closed. Phase 7C (May): Long-term shoulder closures and one lane closures will occur for replacement of guardrails during the daytime from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for approximately two weeks. Phase 7D (June): For bridge expansion joint repairs and permanent pavement markings, lane closures will occur overnight from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. for approximately two weeks. Entrance ramps and loops to eastbound I-80 from 60th Street and 42nd Street will be closed as required. TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Phase 1: Overnight lane closures to remove the concrete median barrier from 78th Street to 87th Street, to accommodate three lanes of westbound traffic on the eastbound lanes. Phase 2: Repairs to westbound I-80 bridges over 84th Street and the Big Papio Creek will reduce westbound and eastbound from four to three lanes, with traffic placed head-to- head in the eastbound lanes for a total of 50 days. The 84th Street on-loop and on-ramp to eastbound and the on-loop to westbound will be closed. The 72nd Street on-ramp to westbound I-80 will be closed. Phase 3: Westbound traffic will shift back onto the westbound lanes and westbound on-loops and on-ramps will open. Three lanes of eastbound traffic will be maintained on the outside lanes to accommodate the repairs to the inside lanes of the eastbound I-80 bridge over 84th Street and the Big Papio Creek. The 84th Street on-loop and on-ramp to eastbound will remain closed during phases 3 and 4 for a total of 65 days. Phase 4: Three lanes of eastbound traffic will be shifted to the inside lanes to accommodate repairs to the outside lanes of the eastbound I-80 bridge over 84th Street and the Big Papio Creek. During project phasing, I-880/I-29/I-680 and/or City streets is the suggested detour. Eastbound and westbound I-80 will be detoured during non-rush hours to remove and replace the overhead dynamic message signs.
