Listed below are just a few of the opportunities available: Do A Contest Now thru Thursday, May 1 To celebrate America's independence, the Atlantic City Alliance is asking "the people" to choose the official soundtrack to Atlantic City's July 4th fireworks extravaganza during the "We the People. By the People. For the People. Do AC July 4th Fireworks Spectacular Soundtrack Song Contest." All fireworks lovers are invited to pick their favorite songs for one of America's largest fireworks shows. Simply vote for the songs you love most among 37 suggested songs within five categories. Categories are "America the Beautiful," "God Bless America," "The Star Spangled Banner," Blake Shelton songs and Pop/Top 40 tunes. After the votes are tallied, the top music selected will then be used as the official soundtrack. Additionally 10 randomly selected users will be awarded a DO AC Summer Beach Package — a “Goodie Bag” filled with prizes perfect for the summer on Atlantic City’s free beach, including DO AC sunglasses, beach balls and more! NOTE: Contest ends at Midnight on May 1 Now thru Thursday, May 22 Global Spectrum, operators of Historic Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center, will award one lucky winner with tickets to every event at the venue for one year as part of its “Chairman of the Boardwalk” Sweepstakes. The winner will receive two tickets to every event scheduled at Boardwalk Hall beginning on Memorial Day 2014 and concluding on Memorial Day 2015. Also included is a night’s stay at any Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City Resort: Caesars, Bally’s, Showboat or Harrah’s and free parking at Boardwalk Hall for each event. DO A Concert Friday, May 2 South Jersey’s most legendary party band, Don’t Call Me Francis will bring their high energy, get up and jam style music to The Social at Revel. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Don't Call Me Francis is one of the most requested bands in the Philadelphia/ tri-state area and beyond. For 12 consecutive years, they have been voted the Best Band in South Jersey and the Delaware Valley by the Courier Post's Readers Choice Awards. DO A Party Saturday, May 3 Global Spectrum, operators of Historic Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center, is inviting all country music fans to a pre-concert party on the Boardwalk before Saturday’s sold-out Jason Aldean concert at Boardwalk Hall. The free party featuring country music, a beer garden sponsored by Ducktown Tavern and food from Mad Dog Morgan’s will start at 4:00 p.m. at Kennedy Plaza, which is located directly across from Boardwalk Hall. Do An Exhibition Now thru Sunday, May 4 Celebrating American sports and sportsmanship through a selection of photographs, artifacts and memorabilia, the Smithsonian’s “Hometown Teams” exhibition explores various aspects of sports and teams, from how and why we play these games to what makes us fans and why we root for our home teams. Now thru June 29 The Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton College features “The Art of Brian Fernandes-Halloran,” a solo exhibition showcasing the works of this multimedia sculpture artist whose creativity stems from significant experiences and events. Childhood memories inspired Saffron, as it resembles his childhood dog. Other works such as Browsing, a self-portrait of the artist at his computer, are action-filled pieces constructed simply in the form of a skeleton. Do A Festival Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 The Atlantic City Alliance along with the City of Atlantic City and Market City Solutions, LLC are pleased to present the DO AC Fire on the Water Festival, a new two-day festival to kick off summer featuring the action-packed Firefighters Combat Challenge and the 7th Annual “Guns vs. Hoses”: Firefighters vs. Police boxing tournament. The festival will have crafters, food vendors, beer gardens, live music, a kid’s Firefighter Challenge, activities and much more. “Fire on the Water” will take place at Historic Gardner’s Basin Waterfront Park from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on both days. Free parking will be available on-site adjacent to the festival grounds. Additional parking will be available on the 700 block of Atlantic Avenue between New Jersey and Delaware Avenues.
