WELCOME TO THE FORMULA 3 KUMHO CUP

The Kumho Cup is an entry-level class introduced as part of the 2014 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship season. The class is geared to cater for

• New drivers looking for their initial ‘wings and slicks’ experience • State level competitors seeking an affordable entry point to national competition • Professional teams looking to develop young talent without the expense or resources required of an outright championship or national class campaign.

The series will be contested over four (of the scheduled eight) rounds of the 2014 F3ADC championship and will run its own point score system, separate from the main (Gold Star) and National Class championships.

The series will be contested over four rounds;

1. , VIC (Shannons Nationals) March 28-30 2. Mount Panorama, Bathurst, NSW () April 18-20 3. Park, NSW (Shannons Nationals) October 31 – November 2 4. Sydney 500, NSW (V8 Supercars) December 5-7

Kumho Cup competitors best three of the four rounds will count to the championship to allow F301 competitors a realistic chance to compete for the Kumho Cup (see Eligibility – Bathurst).

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility is restricted to cars complying with Formula 3 technical regulations built between January 1, 1999 and December 31, 2004.

Kumho Cup eligibility at Mount Panorama Circuit, Bathurst (due to the track license in place) is restricted to cars constructed between 1 January 2002 and 31 December, 2004.

Driver eligibility is restricted to competitors who have contested four or less F3ADC Championship rounds in the past two seasons, or by written approval by Formula 3 Management on a case-by-case basis.

SUPPORT:

Kumho Cup competitors will be paired with a current professional F3ADC team for support across each race meeting. ‘Pro’ teams will provide setup advice and data analysis support free of charge to their designated Kumho Cup competitors. This service is not mandatory and can be refused if competitors wish to operate independently.

All Kumho Cup competitors will be fitted with a control Replay XD 1080i series camera for race vision gathering and driver coaching support purposes.

KEY COSTING FACTS:

• The Event Entry fee is provided free of charge to Kumho Cup Competitors.

• Series registration is provided free of charge to Kumho Cup Competitors.

• Garaging costs and Friday private practice costs (where applicable at Shannons Nationals events) are at the expense of the competitor. Generally these average less than $500 per round.

• Tyre costs (one set permitted per weekend; two new sets for the opening round of the championship)

• The first set of wet tyres required will be supplied at half-price by Kumho Tyres.

ADDITIONAL ROUNDS:

Kumho Cup competitors are welcome at additional rounds in the 2014 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship. Kumho Cup competitors will receive a discounted entry fee to additional rounds at 60% of the posted entry fee for the event in question. Kumho Cup competitors will run in their own class and will not be eligible for outright or national class points should they compete at additional rounds.

Kumho Cup competitors electing to travel to for the City of Darwin Formula 3 Super Prix will receive free entry and a $1000 travel rebate (per competitor) should they enter. Logistics support will be offered by F3M to assist transportation.

PRIZES:

The winner of the 2014 Kumho Cup will receive their 2015 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship tyres FREE OF CHARGE, thanks to Kumho Tyres and Formula 3 Management.

The Kumho Cup winner must commit to a full season of either the F3 National or Championship classes the following season to be eligible to claim their prize.
