All-day Friday Workshop Friday, October 10, 2014 Pastors, Mission Leaders 9 am to 3 pm at Westgate Chapel and Agency Professionals Topic: Hearing the Voices of the City Tools and Challenges for Pastors & Mission Leaders The Mission field has seen more dramatic changes in the past 50 years than any other time in human history. The flooding of people to cities is a rapidly increasing trend that requires a new “how-to” guide for loving our 21st century neighbors.

In this seminar you will hear: • Global, national and local(Seattle) gospel city-movement trends. • The science and theology behind how people change (both crack addicts and congregants) • How the Church, including yours, is uniquely equipped to engage their city in lasting, meaningful and transformative ways. • Key local voices in the areas of orphan care, prison ministry, school partnerships, refugee care, and ethnic outreach.

Presented in cooperation with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission www.ugm.org Cost: $35 (includes lunch) Preregistration required at www.missionsfestseattle.org

Notes

31 Acknowledgements This is our ninth area-wide missions conference, for which we praise God.

We are so very appreciative for the warm reception which long-time sponsoring church Westgate Chapel has extended to Missions Fest Seattle. This is a major undertaking. A special thanks goes to Senior Pastor Alec Rowlands, Missions Pastor Christopher Hunt, Pastor Tyler Hanson (who produced the promo video for us this year), Jeanie Peterson, Facilities Coordinator, and the entire Westgate Chapel staff. We say “thank you” for being a great witness both locally and globally. We honor you, your congregation and your ministries.

Missions Fest Seattle has been a success due to many contributing factors. To our sponsoring congregations, all who attend this no-cost gathering, a most grateful thank you and bless you for your faithful support of this effort to get the Gospel of Christ out. To those organiza- tions hosting exhibit booths and sponsoring ads in this magazine, much thanks. We also deeply appreciate our Keynote Speakers and Seminar leaders, as well as our conference volunteers.

The Friday Field Trip is a mini-missions conference for private, public and homeschooling students, grades 4-12. The students are invited to come for their own missions conference geared for them. Over lunch (which they bring along), they can visit the exhibits that are open to welcome them.

The Youth Rally is on Friday evening. Students who attend this event will have an option to attend a deeper journey into the world of missions at a winter weekend retreat planned for Island Lake Camp in March, 2015. More information will be on the MFS website.

There is an organizing Missions Fest Seattle (MFS) Leadership Team and an Executive Committee which meets monthly to plan and organize Leadership Team of this outreach. They make up the sub-committees listed below. Thanks to Missions Fest Seattle: each and every one for all your prayers, time and efforts.
