TYCOON COLT TOPS INGLIS OPENER CLASSIC DOUBLE FOR A colt by Written Tycoon (Aus) (Iglesia {Aus}), consigned by ROUGET FILLY Woodside Park Stud, topped the opening day of the 2016 Inglis Great Southern Sale when selling for A$170,000 to the partnership of Ampulla Lodge and Ascot Farm. The colt, lot 85, highlighted a solid day of trade that saw most KPI=s increase all round from 2015. A total of 152 weanlings changed hands at an average of A$31,378 giving an aggregate of A$4,769,500 and a median of A$18,000, all up on last year. The clearance rate dipped two points to 82%. The sale topper was one of eight lots to sell for A$100,000 or more throughout the day.
