Brenton Avdulla was a leading apprentice in Melbourne before a ‘chance’ phone call from Gai Waterhouse saw him relocate to Sydney to be indentured to her. Avdulla has ridden over 100 winners in his last five seasons in Sydney striking at no less than 14.5%, contributing to his total win tally of 1,124 (as of 25 November).
