Outside Covers YARRADALE STUD 2013 YEARLING SALE 12.00PM SUNDAY 19 MAY O’BRIEN ROAD, GIDGEGANNUP, WESTERN AUSTRALIA FROST GIANT HE’S COMING New to Western Australia in 2013 A son of GIANT’S CAUSEWAY, just like champion sire, SHAMARDAL. From the STORM CAT sireline, just like successful WA sire MOSAYTER - sire of MR MOET, TRAVINATOR, ROMAN KNOWS etc This durable, tough Group 1 winner, won from 2 years through to 5 years and was a top class performer on both turf and dirt. In his freshman year in 2012 he was fourth leading first crop sire in America!! (ahead of Big Brown, Street Boss etc) • Ranked number 1 by % winners to runners – 80% • Ranked number 1 by Stakes horses to runners – 27% • All time leading money earnings for a first crop sire in America’s North East. With his first crop of 2YO’s in 2012 he sired: • 15 runners for 12 individual 2YO winners! • 4 of those were 2YO stakes horses! • Average earnings of over $50,000 for every 2YO! Continuing on from what has been a wonderful year on the racetrack for our Yarradale Stud graduates, we take great pleasure in presenting to you our 2013 Yarradale Stud Yearling Sale catalogue. After four successful editions of the on farm sale, we are now seeing some fantastic results and stories coming out of these sales. Not only have the previous on farm sales been a great day out with wonderful crowds in attendance, these sales are now proving to be a great source of winners. Obviously our aim is to sell yearlings that go on and perform and we have been thrilled to see the graduates of our previous sales really hitting their straps in recent times. Of course, with the confidence I have in all the Yarradale Stud yearlings, I am more than happy to retain up to a 50% interest in each yearling to race with you and your owners. Again, we hope this is an added incentive to you, knowing you can have up to 50% of the horse paid up for. We also pride ourselves in the quality of our stock and we endeavour to be creative in ways to assist you the buyer, through our lease deals, our extended credit terms, along with retaining shares in our horses. Once again Yarradale Stud will double the value of the 2014 Karrakatta Plate stakemoney (as paid out by Perth Racing) if the winner of that race is sold as a yearling by Yarradale Stud in 2013. (see details in the conditions of sale). Yarradale Stud has enjoyed previous success in this race winning it twice and placing in it as well and has had 5 runners in the race that were Yarradale owned / sold or bred in the past two years. Planning for the future is something we take great pleasure in at Yarradale Stud and it is with much excitement we sit back and look at our stallion roster for the coming 2013 season. These stallions we hope will breed our stars of the future and we eagerly await TO WELCOME YARRADALE the arrival of our exciting new addition to the farm, FROST GIANT (USA). This outstanding Group 1 winner has taken all before him in his first seasons at stud in America with no less than 12 individual 2YO winners from 15 runners and 4 stakes horses in his first 2YO crop (ranking him #1 in America for both winners to runners and stakes horses to runners for a first season sire). WAR CHANT (USA) continues to dominate around the globe and is quite simply a world class sire. His impressive 68% winners to runners worldwide is as good as any stallion could hope for. SCANDAL KEEPER (USA) proved to be one of the most popular sires in the country in 2012 covering a wonderful book of over 150 mares and his progeny continue to impress. MUSKET was represented with his first winner, Rutherglen (in track record time) for the David Payne stable in Sydney and DISCORSI had his first crop yearlings sell up to $57,500 and were much admired by all the good judges at the recent Perth Magic Millions Sale. In closing, we hope you enjoy looking through this year’s catalogue and we again look forward to welcoming you to our farm for what will surely be a great day out and an opportunity for you to secure some of WA’s finest yearlings.
