Advantages and Highlights of Awho Meerut : Rakshapuram Phase-Ii Project ADVANTAGES AND HIGHLIGHTS OF AWHO MEERUT : RAKSHAPURAM PHASE-II PROJECT 1. AWHO Meerut, Rakshapuram Phase – II Project is ideally suited for Army / Service/Retired personnel as Delhi NCR is already saturated and no new AWHO project is likely to come up in the Delhi NCR in future. Meerut as an alternative has inherit advantage of not only being close to Delhi but providing an environment friendly and economically viable option to serving and retired Army Personnel with scope for tremendous growth in future. The AWHO complex at Rakshapuram in Meerut is thus planned to provide ‘Quality of Life’ with affordable living cost. A limited number of dwelling units in three different categories are being constructed in the project. The project is being planned in multi-storey configuration of stilts + four storeys. All towers are being provided with the lifts. 2. Few advantages & highlights are given as per succeeding paras. 3. Location: It is located in already developed up-scale area of Rakshapuram adjacent to the posh Defence Colony. 139 Dwelling Units are already existing in Phase-I which was completed in 1995. The area demands a circle rate of approx. Rs 23500/- per sq metre of land and more than Rs.4000 per sqft of market rate for ready built flats. Ganga Nagar Housing Scheme is only 3 Kms away. 4. Vicinity to Amenities (a) Commercial hubs of Abu Lane and Sadar Bazar are ONLY 4 Km away. (b) District Court, other district offices and Meerut Development Authority Meerut is just 20 minutes drive. Meerut is also a Divisional HQs. Commissioner Office of Meerut Division is located at Meerut near district courts. (c) One can go to Delhi, Moradabad, Roorkee, without passing through the traffic congested Meerut City. Both Meerut Cantt Railway Stn and Meerut City Railway Stn are within 20 – 25 minutes drive. There are a number of private universities along Meerut By Pass (NH - 58) which are easily accessible. 6. Education Institutes. Very good schools of Meerut like Sophia Girls School, St John’s Boys School, St Mary’s Academy, Dewan Public School etc are all located in Meerut Cantt and are within a drive of 15 – 20 minutes . Prestigious Meerut College is only 5 Kms. Famous Chaudhary Charan Singh University is just a 20 – 25 minutes drive. 2 7. Long Term Advantages (a) Phase-I of Delhi Meerut Expressway has been completed. Once the entire expressway is made operational, commute time to Delhi by road would be 1 h 30 minutes to 2 h only. (b) Rapid Rail Transportation System (RRTS) from Delhi to Meerut has already been sanctioned by the Govt of India. It is likely to be completed and fully operational by 2025. (c) In principle approval to ‘Meerut Metro’ transportation system has been accorded by UP Govt which shall be integrated with RRTS. 8. Project Specific Highlights. (a) Structural design and safety aspects vetted from IIT Delhi. (b) Low rise building (Stilt + 4 Storeys only) with lift and assured one car parking in the stilt area. Adequate green spaces. (c) Only two flats per floor. (d) One service lift per 8 flats with power back up facility. (e) Spacious rooms in all three types of flat configuration. (f) Gated complex. Energy saving LED street lights. (g) Specifications are one of the best in Housing Construction in Meerut Area. (h) Rain Water Harvesting and STP. 9.     Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System Investment Project (RRP IND 51073) JAPAN FUND FOR POVERTY REDUCTION GRANT I. INTRODUCTION 1. The proposed Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System Investment Project will finance the first of three prioritized rail corridors of the planned regional rapid transit system (RRTS) network in the country’s National Capital Region (NCR). The Delhi–Meerut RRTS will pass through the densely populated sections of the NCR, connecting Delhi to Meerut via Ghaziabad with safe, reliable, and high-capacity commuter transit services. With a design speed of 180 kilometers (km) per hour and high-frequency operations of every 5–10 minutes, this 82-km corridor is expected to substantially reduce journey times by approximately 2–3 hours. The investment project will finance rail tracks, signaling, station buildings, and maintenance facilities. It will also support capacity and institutional development of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), a joint venture company of the Government of India and the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, which is mandated to implement the RRTS project across the NCR.1 2. The investment project is aligned with the following impact: urban mobility in the NCR improved. 2 The investment project will have the following outcome: efficiency, safety, social inclusiveness, and environmental sustainability of transport in the Delhi–Meerut RRTS corridor improved. 3. The proposed grant to be provided by the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction aims to ensure that the improved mobility and economic opportunities resulting from the RRTS will benefit women and differently abled groups in the urban areas of Uttar Pradesh along the corridor.

In 1972, Scooters India Ltd (SIL), a state-run enterprise based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, bought the entire manufacturing rights of the last Innocenti Lambretta model. API has infrastructural facilities at Mumbai, Aurangabad, and Chennai but has been non-operational since 2002. SIL stopped producing scooters in 1998.
