Peloton Dads Challenge – Marvel Run! FORMAT CHANGES: - MARVEL THEME! Avengers, assemble! Time to take on Thanos and The Black Order! - Four Teams! We will have four teams for this run of the PDC. This will enable the next point… - Weekly Head to Head Match Ups! Each week you will be competing against only one competitor team. We will rank the standings as Wins/Losses just like a typical football season. - NINE weeks in the “Regular Season” – this means you will face each team three times. - Playoffs! After the nine regular season weeks, we will have a 2 week playoff where the seeding will be 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd. This means the 4th place team could lose the regular season but still win the playoffs! - Eleven weeks, TOTAL NEW TEAM LEADERS: - Our leaders from our Star Wars Run did a great job! They were not “replaced”; they were awarded a reprieve! It is always fun to get new leaders in to keep things fresh! - Leading the Avengers: Mike “Captain America” Nulicek! - Leading the Guardians of the Galaxy: Chris “Star-Lord” Lear! - Leading the X-Men: Brian “Wolverine” Verlaan! - Leading The Black Order: Mike “Thanos” Callahan! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: - SIGN-UP: DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP EACH WEEK? YES. We are working on an enhancement to save most of your data, but you will ALWAYS HAVE TO SIGN UP, OR AT LEAST OPT IN, EVERY WEEK. This is important because we have over 500 guys who have participated in 2021, but only 270 or so who participate each week. Asking for a sign up commitment ensures we know who to expect in the results data. It will help diagnose any issues that may arise. Put a recurring reminder in your phone for Tuesday evening to sign up! Please make sure you type it exactly correct. - DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RESISTANCE AND CADENCE RANGES? It is encouraged that you follow the class format in cadence and coaching in the saddle, out of the saddle, speed intervals, and climbing. If you stay within the range of the called out cadences throughout the class, you should be very close to achieving the cadence bonus each time. The class Target Cadence is based on the average cadence (taken as the midpoint of the range call outs) for the entire class. You DO NOT HAVE TO STAY IN THE RESISTANCE RANGE. We have many riders who can exceed the resistance range and still follow the class and maintain cadences as called out by the instructor. There is no rule against going outside the resistance ranges. - CAN I DO A DIFFERENT RIDE? No – the programming is specifically looking for your output result from the specific ride mentioned. Peloton Dads Challenge – Marvel Run! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: - WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T RIDE? No big deal. If you sign up but are unable to ride, then when I pull the data sets and match them up, if there is not a corresponding “result” to go with the “sign up” file then the output goal amount assigned to you is dropped to zero and it is a wash. Doesn’t help nor hurt your team. - WHAT TIME IS THE CUTOFF? The ride has to be completed by 8AM EASTERN US TIME ON FRIDAY MORNING. The ride is announced Wednesday around 1-3pm so that gives you roughly a 43 hour window to get the ride completed. We did have a few requests to move the deadline on Friday back but, unfortunately, I cannot accommodate a midday cut-off. ( I do have a real job that I get paid to perform LOL!) So I pull the data and do the write up early on Friday. If something goes wrong and you’re unable to ride on Thursday, it is no big deal (see above). Also, the window is big enough that it allows for West US Coast riders to get really two evenings to choose from and it allows for our European Riders to have two mornings to choose from. Remember, we are spanning a lot of time zones here! - HOW IS IT SCORED? Your individual scoring remains EXACTLY THE SAME. Your personal goal in KJs remains 94% of your PR, and you are eligible for the 3% Cadence Bonus. The ONLY CHANGE is that the team performance will be matched head to head. .
