SPECIMENS

• Currently holding 2.2 specimens: Males «SB#: 86 and SB#: 140» • Arrived on May 31st. 2007, from San Diego Wild Animal Park • Females: «SB#: 440 and SB#: 433» • Arrived in October 2014, from San Diego Wild Animal Park and Santa Barbara Zoo. • We’re paired in December 2014 CHAPULTEPEC ZOO PREPARATION

• After the XIX Trilateral Meeting, we received the visit of John Mccamman, Michael Mace, Michael Wallace, Cathy Porras and Juan Vargas to Chapultepec Zoo, to check the facilities and jointly: • Determine and rebuilt 2 enclosures, providing two nests on each one. • Approved quarantine station • Physical examination of two males CONDOR FEMALE RECEPTION

• Transfer difficulties in both movements due to: lack of knowledge/sensibility from the Authorities: • Both birds arrived alive and are doing well. • We convened a meeting with the mexican Authorities involved, with the participation of the USF&WS, San Diego Zoo and CONANP, among others, only a few authorities attend, without improvement in the import process. • Finally the birds we’re released from customs and transfered to the Chapultepec Zoo, to start a 30 day quarantine.

PAIR SB: M86 and SB: F440

•They’re bonded and they start with display and mating behaviors after two months we put them together. •They start incubating an egg since march the 2nd. 2015, they’re switching roles since the first day. •We have a very strong surveillance over the pair (from outside the enclosure).

PAIR SB:M140 and SB:F133 •They’re not bonded, the female is picking the male’s head several times a day. •The male never shown any breeding behaviour towards the female. •We have a very strong surveillance over the pair (from outside the enclosure). •Now they’re separated from each other in the enclosure
