DISTRIBUTION SERVICE DISTRIBUTION LIST AUCTION 41 May 2013 The monthly AATTC Distribution Service document includes the Distribution List and the Auction Catalogue. Orders: You can order by email or by post. Distribution List: Please note the new arrangements. If ordering by email, send your order to Peter Hobbis at [email protected]. If ordering by post, send your order to Peter Hobbis, 17 Louise Crescent, Morphett Vale, SA 5162. Please make sure that it is clear which item numbers you are ordering. If an item is available in both file and print versions, please clearly indicate which version you want. Peter will forward your order to the Distribution Officers who holds the stock for the items ordered. Please contact Peter if you do not receive your order within two weeks for email orders or three weeks for postage orders. Peter is new to this task and is keen to ensure that all orders are processed correctly. Please include an email address or phone number so that he can check any order details if necessary. Auction: Send your order to AATTC Auctioneer, 19 Yara Cr, Maryland, NSW 2287, or to [email protected]. Costs: For the Distribution List, each item is allocated a number of cost points, each worth 25 cents. Add up the cost points for the items you order, and divide by 4 to work out the total dollar value of your order. For the Auction lots, enter your bid in whole dollars in the Bid column. If you wish, you can also add an alternate bid that you are prepared to pay for the lot in the Alt Bid column. The Auctioneer will advise you, preferably by email, of the auction items where your bid was the highest, and the total value of your order. See specific details for the Auction process on page 6. The cost of packing and postage is included in both the Distribution List costs and in the Auction bid values. Despatch: Distribution List items will be despatched by the Distribution Officers who hold the stock of the items ordered. Auction items will be despatched to successful bidders by the Auctioneer after payment has been made. Payment: All payments and account balances are handled by the AATTC Treasurer. The preferred method for payment is for you to maintain a credit account with AATTC. Your Distribution List and Auction costs can be deducted from this account. You can top-up the account by direct deposit to AATTC at Westpac: BSB 034 083, account number 16 3088. You can also pay by cheque or with postage stamps attached to your order, or sent to AATTC Treasurer, PO Box 21, Yea, Vic 3717, or by PayPal to [email protected]. Payments attached to orders will be forwarded to the Treasurer. If you submit items for inclusion in the Distribution List, you can claim the costs of sending them to a Distribution Officer when you submit an order. Please provide the postage details. The value of these costs is added to your credit account. A discount of 5% for AATTC members is applied to Distribution List orders over $10 and Auction orders over $30. Contributions to the Distribution Service are always welcome. Please contact the Treasurer for information about where to send the material. Contact details are on page 1. There are several ways in which this can be done. • If you can send single copies of timetables and brochures, arrangements can then usually be made to request more copies from the operator. • If you can obtain multiple copies, usually 10 copies are needed to cater for orders, but 15 copies are needed if the item is likely to be popular. You can request to have the cost of postage for sending supplies for the Distribution Service granted as credit to your account. If you are not sure about these arrangements, please contact the Treasurer by phone or email (details on page 1).

Your comments and suggestions about the Distribution Service are appreciated. They can help to improve the service for all members of the Australian Association of Timetable Collectors.

Do Not Throw Away Old Timetables Old timetables can be a valuable asset for the AATTC Auctions, Distribution Service or the National Timetable Collection. If you have old timetables that you want to discard, please contact AATTC first. Len Regan, 03 5797 2493, [email protected], will help you decide where best your old timetables can be deposited.

For the Lots of your choice, write your bid in the 'Bid' column. It must be not less than the amount shown in the Reserve column. If this is the only bid for a Lot, you will pay this price. If there are multiple bidders, but no Alternate Bids for a Lot, the Lot is sold to the highest bidder at that price. You can enter an Alternate Bid that you are prepared to pay in the 'Alt Bid' column. If there is more than one bid for a Lot, the Alternate Bids are considered, and the item is sold to the highest Alternate Bid at that price. All bid values include the cost of postage to the successful bidder. If there is more than one equal bid, each bidder will be contacted by the auctioneer, preferably by email, and given the opportunity to raise their bid. Initial bids must be submitted by 20 May 2013. Payment must be made within 7 days of advice that your bid has been accepted, otherwise the bid will lapse. You can submit items for inclusion in future Auctions - please contact the Auctioneer beforehand. Please include a list of the items submitted, and whether as a vendor or as a donation. Vendors receive 75% of the successful bid value. Vendor payment is made to your bank account, or can be credited to your AATTC Distribution Service account. The topic for the June 2013 Auction will be Country and Interstate Bus and Coach Services.
