Aaron Donald Verletzt Vom Feld Aaron Donald erneut Defensive Player of the Year Der Defensive Lineman der Los Angeles Rams, Aaron Donald, wurde am Samstag bei der NFL Honors Show zum Defensive Player of the Year 2020 gewählt. Donald hat in dieser Saison in 16 Spielen 45 Tackles, 13,5 Sacks und vier Forced Fumbles erzielt. Damit wurde er bereits zum dritten Mal zum besten Verteidiger der Liga gekürt und zieht mit dem ehemaligen Linebacker der New York Giants, Lawrence Taylor, und dem Defensive End der Houston Texans, J.J. Watt, gleich. Donald gewann die Auszeichnung bereits 2017 und 2018. Außerdem wurde er 2014 zum “Defensive Rookie of the Year” gewählt. Nach einem Zusammenprall mit Seattles Safety Jamal Adams, musste der Ersatz-Quarterback mit einer Kopfverletzung vom Feld. Sein Ersatz wiederum der angeschlagene Franchise QB Jared Goff. Nur kurze Zeit später stand die Gewissheit fest. Wolford wurde aufgrund einer Gehirnerschütterung und/oder Nackenverletzung ins Krankenhaus gebracht. Näheres zum Gesundheitszustand ist derzeit nicht bekannt. Während Jared Goff sichtlich Probleme hatte den Pass mit seiner angeschlagenen Wurfhand zu bewegen, gelingt es der Seattle Defense einfach nicht das Laufspiel der Rams in den Griff zu bekommen. Gleichzeitig ist es die Rams Defense, die sehr dominant auftritt und Russell Wilson keine Verschnaufpause erlaubt. Halbzeitstand: LA Rams 20 – 10 Seattle Seahawks In der zweiten Hälfte macht die Rams Defense weiter wo sie aufgehört hat. Doch auch das Verletzungspech bleibt den Rams weiter treu. Mit Aaron Donald muss der wohl beste Defensive Spieler der NFL das Feld zu Beginn des dritten Quarters verlassen. Bei einem Tackle an Seattles Quarterback Russell Wilson, fiel im Wilson auf den Abdomen (Bauch), wodurch Donald Probleme hatte Luft zu bekommen. Auf das Feld zurückkommen sollte Aaron Donald an diesem Abend nicht mehr. Doch überraschenderweise sollte der Verlust ihres Top-Stars den Rams gar nicht so anzumerken sein. Die Defense performte weiterhin auf einem hohen Level. Den Seahawks gelang es zu keinem Zeitpunkt des Spiels in ihren Offensive Rhythmus zu finden. Schlussendlich setzen sich die LA Rams in einem zähen aber doch irgendwie deutlichen Spielverlauf gegen die Seattle Seahawks durch. The Bears placed cornerback Kyle Fuller, outside linebacker Khalil Mack and safety Eddie Jackson on the defense and punt returner Tarik Cohen on special teams. The Kansas City Chiefs had three All-NFL selections as they placed quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and tackle Mitchell Schwartz on the offense. The Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks each had two players on the All-NFL team. In all, 17 clubs are represented among the 28 players honored by the PFWA. A total of eight players were repeat selections from the PFWA’s 2017 All-NFL team. Philadelphia defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Rams running back Todd Gurley, Houston wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, Philadelphia center Jason Kelce, Dallas guard Zack Martin, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller and Seattle middle linebacker Bobby Wagner also received 2017 honors.
