My motivation for my candidature as Vice President of Solar Power Europe Professional motivation: • With a recent rebound of PV in Europe and a new commission defining its agenda, we have a tremendous window of opportunity - which SPE can and must utilize - to set Europe on a path of sustained PV growth • SPE is the most influential energy association in Europe which does not mostly represent large businesses but also cares about the interest of small and mid-size players like solar wholesalers and installers. I want to strengthen the voice for a distributed version of renewable energy growth in Europe Personal motivation: • EPIA, now Solar Power Europe, and its members, past and present, have taught me all about PV, starting more than 10 years ago. They have helped me to live my dream of working 100% of my time on renewable energy. • I have experienced the glory days and the downturns of PV in Europe. I worked with former and current members on growth strategies - but also on cost-cutting projects. I helped start new solar businesses - and I had to close some down. • I want to give back some of this experience to SPE and its members. I am 100% dedicated to making solar energy a lasting success - and SPE is the crucial platform to work towards this objective.
